      That's based on release date.

I’ve claimed coins on Zelda which I had only recently purchased?

        • Are you asking a question or attempting to make a statement?

        • +19

Which Zelda? BotW you can't claim coins anymore, and Links Awakening came out only a few months ago.

Negging a deal because you didn't get a few cents from Nintendo in gold coins is ridiculous

    • +1

Why neg the deal when Nintendo is the one that screwed the pooch?

    • Amazon wouldn't be unique to that.

Create a EU account and redeem them

For the purchase of a Nintendo Switch game card, you earn Gold Points worth 1% of the undiscounted Nintendo eShop price of that game. In order to receive the points, you need to register the game card on the HOME Menu of your Nintendo Switch console within two years (for Europe and South Africa) or one year (for all other countries) from the official release date of the game in your country. You can confirm the release date of a game by visiting its details page on Nintendo eShop.

      • I stand corrected. Cheers

      • BoTW was released in March 2017 so wouldn’t be eligible for the gold coins on an EU account either.

        • I was replying to bemy's Smash Ultimate comment.

    • Bwahahahahaha

  • You’re a bloody goose!

  • The $10 credit from Nintendo seems to only be provided after Amazon ships the game. That means it might be able before you can redeem the $10 credit each time.

    • Also the benefit can only be redeemed once.

So when I try to buy this game as my 3rd game in this category, I don’t get credit from my 2nd game to apply for this game.

    • +1

I am still waiting for amazon to ship my game so that I can use the $10 credit to buy another one. :(

      • +7

Same here. Such a stupid implementation of a deal. Why not "add any 2 eligible items to cart and get $10 off at checkout". So much easier, and less shipping costs/packaging.

        • +3

maybe so they can jack up the prices after the games have been shipped hehe

          • @miq: no one at Amazon really thought this through - poorly executed. The $10 credit is really not that valuable.

            • +1

@wanj: I wouldn’t say it’s poorly executed - it secures them a whole bunch of return customers/sales which they otherwise may not have had.

      • Yep same here it’s crap

    • Is this prime only?

Thanks, great timing since I got a Switch for Christmas :)

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Thanks! Almost bought this yesterday!

  • +1

    Get one, thanks

  • Was cheaper on release, but get excited boyyyzzzzz!

  • Arrived this morning with no seal and scratches on the box :(
At least I am enjoying the game right now :)

    • Contact Amazon support. They're really good and might be able to give you some discount or something off the price you paid.

      • Switch games aren't usually sealed (although Pokemon sword and shield were). The scratches are unfortunate though

        • Mine was sealed. I did notice it was an EU copy though, but don’t think that matters on switch anymore
