Bought one earlier + $20 shopback. Good deal.

Understand it does not have the HEPA filter. I need the Animal then. See comparision for reference.

      It does have HEPA filter.

      • -3

        Source?

        • You can see the blue HEPA filter at the back from the picture.

    • I'm also wondering if the v7 had HEPA filter. Does anyone have a definite answer?

      • +1

Though I'm not as ~definite~ authoratative as moderncastle. However, I do own one, and it does come with HEPA filter. Who do you believe?

If you know what a Dyson V7 HEPA filter look like, you can clearly seen it from the picture above.

        • cheers I think you're right!

based on this page here: https://www.bestcordlessvacuumguide.com/dyson-v7-review/

I think you can tell which model has a post-motor HEPA filter by looking at the colour of the back?
Not sure how to identify whether it has pre-motor HEPA filter though!

Not sure how to identify whether it has pre-motor HEPA filter though!

There is no such thing as pre-motor HEPA filter, Dyson only have ordinary pre-filter, and it's on every models of V7 series vacuum cleaners.

I see you missed out on 74c cashback by using CR instead of SB.

    • Both figures off. Cashback is on the amount minus 10% GST ($309.60)

      • Ok fair enough. I know cashback is only supposed to be payable on full amount minus GST but sometimes I get cashback based on full amount including GST. For example, the recent bws 20% cashback deal through shopback.

  • Yep bought one earlier too with that ShopBack deal. Works out about the same as the CashRewards one. Used credit card points to get a gift card, so it didn’t cost me anything really. Bargain!

Tempted to buy just coz it's called Motorhead. RIP Lemmy

    • We are Motorhead and we play Rock n Roll

  • Hmmm this any good?

  • Got a "Cord-Free" version at Harvey Norman's last year box day deal for $299. The only difference seems to be the extra 1 min on Max Mode according to the official website. Both last 30 min on the normal mode though.

    • The motorhead has a purple back, meaning it has post motor HEPA filter. Whereas the cord free version doesnt

Might be stupid question, is this the whole vacuum or just the head?

    • I know this sucking machine usually isn’t cheap, but getting only a head for $344 is quite expensive! Might as well go all the way for that price. There’s also a crevice tool included I think.

      • Just realised, this things been selling for around 350 for a while, not sure if it's a bargain. The RRP is laughable..

      • you get a complete vacuum not just a head.

    • +1

      Its the whole vacuum

  • Aldi is doing these for $399 so I am guessing with the V11 and V10 out there's a lot of old stock to clear ?

I was going to see if Aldi discounted them at some point (if any were left)

    • +1

Aldi clearance drops are 5 to 10 percent at a time so it could be a while before they beat this.

      • +1

And in the meantime their clearance stuff does get sold. It's weird given their station in the hierarchy of perceived value how rarely you get a deep discount on the original price.

        • Absolutely agree and particularly with Minimum chips.. but depending on your local store and timing, you can snag a bargain if you're willing to visit and keep checking..

I haven't seen Aldi doing 5% or 10% - they seem to more likely do a flat $10 or $20 (or more) off the price (which then of course works out to something that may look like 5%..

The best buys for me have been when their drill batteries go from $40 to $20.. so I was hoping they might do something similar if there was a stack of V7s.. especially since they popped up in lots everywhere…. (

I know I'm born to lose, and bargaining's for fools, but that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live forever!

Love it. Hope you had a Jack Daniel's to celebrate Lemmy's 4th anniversary of his passing on December 28th.

  • Saw a guy buy it for $359 at Costco. I wanted to show him the DJ price, but decided not to.

  • does anyone know if there's a difference between the V7 motorhead and the V7 motorhead origin that was going for 399 at aldi the other week?

  • Prices have gone back up to $399 (on special) everywhere except DJ’s.

    • Costco is still $359

      • I’d prefer to pay $344 - 5.6% Cash Rewards.

        • Of course. Just wanted to point out that prices haven't gone up to $399 everywhere.

          • @RSmith: Ok. Prices have gone up everywhere else that doesn’t require a membership, has only a handful of stores across Australia and is available in-store only.
