beyond me why anyone would buy this FHD when you get 2019 4k samung/lg/pansonic for around same price, even 49" sony 8000g was $688 recently
    recent deal

Because it's a 50" TV and depending on how far back you sit, HD is fine?
Or because hardly any content is available in 4K for the average viewer?

i'd agree if it was 2013, as said above why wouldn't you just buy the lg/samsung 4k which has had numerous deals for the same price, or the sony 4k 8000g which was $688 recently, no reason to buy this with numerous 4k tv's available in the same price range

Arguably I would say if it's a dumb TV (No smart features) then FHD is fine (FTA TV). However, if it has access to Netflix it should be 4K, as there are plenty of 4K streaming contents.

A lot can't stream at 4k. Me for one - my nbn connection isn't fast enough.

If I was buying a small-ish TV like this, i'd prefer 1080p over 4k as most of what I watch is 1080p. Today's upscaling of 1080p to 4k is decent. But native 1080p is better.

each to their own I guess.. same price at Amazon if anyone really wants it

    • True…unless you’re more than about 1.5 metres from the screen (for this size screen) where human vision in unable to process the difference. Anyone who proclaims otherwise is lying, dumb - or (bless them) both.

  • Retravision is listing this for $595

Eh. You can get a 4K Hisense TV or TCL TV for a cheaper price in a similar size. I have no idea why anyone would buy this.

    • Totally agree.

This has a 100Hz refresh rate, plus it's a Sony so will have a better panel than a cheap TV.

        Not true 100hz

    Note: W660F is a 2018 model.

You can get it with FREE delivery at Sony for the same $599 price…
