Gigabyte Gaming OC is notch below the MSI Gaming X in terms of product tier. Gaming X or Lightning are higher end, like Gigabyte Aorus. Gaming OC is more mid tier and Windforce OC is entry level.

    • It's different but that also seems like a pretty good deal, especially considering the free NVMe drive

  • I'm in the market for a new GPU, There seems to be a lot of driver issues with the AMD cards at the moment even with the latest driver release from AMD

It might be worth the risk due to price\performance and wait for better driver support or just pay the extra and get a 2070 super with stable drivers.

    • I just went through similar thinking. I've had a Vega 64 for a while now and the drivers have been a constant hassle. Fan curve still doesn't work, Wattman settings / monitoring has never worked 100%, multi monitor issues.

I've just ordered the 2070 Super, I think it's worth it for the extra $100. Can be overclocked much further than 5700 XT also.

It's now even cheaper.. OP can you please update the price to $599.. IMHO this is a great price for this..

  • Similarly specced (Clock speeds slightly lower but overall performance very similar) Evoke OC version is $580.25 including postage on Ebay Computer Alliance store. A little smaller if space is any issue. It's gold/champagne in colour which may not be to everyone's taste and no RGB lighting.

If you did research into the Evoke you would not be recommending it, it has major flaws with memory cooling, While not as bad as the 5700XT TUF, it's still not a card I would recommend to anyone.

      • I own it. No cooling issues.

        • go and check your memory temperatures (do not confuse this with GPU Edge or Junction Temp) using MSI Afterburner during a stress test or 30minute gaming session without any FRTC/Radeon Chill/FPS Cap enabled.
Memory temps will be very bad….

even worse go and run FURMARK For like 10 minutes on the EVOKE.. memory temps will hit 104c and card will throttle.

while the card should not throttle in typical gaming scenario it will run super loud and super hot & not something to recommend. (Mostly memory temps, Core and Junction isnt too bad on the EVOKE however the fan DBA is not great to maintin the low core/junction temps… its the MEMORY which suffers regardless on the EVOKE) - for more info go and watch the video from Gamers Nexus on youtube.

I know because I use to own the EVOKE, now I own the Gaming X and I have compared both models running these tests thoroughly.

The Gaming X is FAR SUPERIOR to the EVOKE in every-way possible, and is a fantastic card.

  • This card is fantastic! great price
