  I installed one of these for a customer. It was fantastically effective in getting wifi from their main house to their 'granny' flat built in the metal clad shed.

    So why this? Was the "granny" flat far away from the main house or what? Wouldn't a pack of cheapo Tenda Nova Mesh do a much better job as I don't think the shed would be that far away from main house. If using as repeater I'm afraid this would result in terribad speed (half of normal speed).

      It was in AP mode with ethernet up the date of it. I never recommend repeaters, its always a disappointing affair. The signal from his nighthawk in the room at that corner of the house was not making it to the inside of the 'shed' sufficiently. Mesh all you want, it needed an external antenna and this is the one the customer purchased.

      I'm just saying that it worked well for that purpose.

  Apparently, junk according to amazon.com reviews. Also its a fixed IP from what the description says (in poor English) and the reviews.
  So unless your network is 192.168.10/24 network be prepared to renumber your entire network to make this work.

    Yes, all WiFi is usually backward compatible. Doesn't use 5GHz band which most new WiFi devices also use - so it could be slow/congested if there's a heap of other networks around.
