2020 Rescued Dog/Cat Calendar $10 (Was $20) + Delivery @ Save-A-Dog Scheme

890

Now that it's the new year, the Save-A-Dog Scheme is offering their 2020 calendar for half price. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the shelter. They are currently trying to raise funds to build a brand new and even bigger shelter so they can save even more animals, so every little bit counts. :)

A new beautiful rescued face every month, featuring stunning professional photographs of Save-A-Dog Scheme dogs and cats, by Simon Carrol (Living Image Photography).

From the website: "Save-A-Dog Scheme (SADS) is a community-based not-for-profit animal welfare organisation that saves hundreds of dogs and cats from being killed every year. We have a no-kill philosophy and provide veterinary care to sick or injured animals so they can live out their natural lifespan. SADS was established in 1985 to offer a humane alternative to the killing of unwanted dogs, especially dogs of good temperament, that would otherwise be destroyed at pounds and shelters and later included caring for and sheltering cats as well."

Edit: They also have half-price dog leads

A good deal and a good cause. In case anyone was wondering looks to be $3 to metro areas.

    Thanks for posting OP.

  • Thank you. A must buy 😊

  • Ordered one, thanks OP

  • Wish stray cats could be genetically turned into dogs! So hard to make a dog miow while it is so easy to make a cat go woof!

I was interested in supporting this organisation and went to do some research both on their website as well as through reviews.

Whilst they do seem to have success in re-homing cats and dogs, google reviews suggest this is in spite of management who may hinder the process.

A good shelter run by people who genuinely care about animals goes out of their way to ensure that those who adopt their abandoned animals are a good match considering the animals' histories/needs. In this process some people are bound to take offense because they don't know how much work goes on behind the scenes. Online reviews can be helpful but need to be taken with a grain of salt.

      • Nice to look at the Google reviews as it look like some nasty B's administrator's there that everyone that supports this charity is supporting :)

        • For those that negged me I have simply put the information there for people to read the reviews themselves and form their own opinion.

Thanks to heartless people like you. If you cannot be kind to animals, you cannot be kind to humans either.

Dogs are good companions but please give me just ONE reason to support the main fauna killers also known as cats.

      • Dogs are noisy annoying animals, who bark up neighbourhoods at night and have enough owners who leave dogshit around to annoy just about everyone, however they're also lovely companions who provide many people with a great sense of comfort, and are also hella cute. Life isn't so black and white, maybe spend a little less time hating and more loving

  • For anyone interested, I was rummaging through the recycling bin at work and rescued some animal-themed calendars from 2019 and 2018 in near perfect condition.

  • Thanks to OP. Bought one.
