Can I use this for my kids? I’d say they are medium sized.

The comments on this "bargain" are going to be great.

I would NEVER consider paying $400 for a picture of my wife…. but of my little Schnauzer Poopsie? Hmmmmmm, seems reasonable

    • You can take your poopsie for free rather paying 597 (no 397) . Save heaps monies.

    • People in ancient times have no idea what they missed out on.

Though, seriously wrap shit in a nice package and someone will buy it. I'd rather spend money on a shelter or adopt a pet. If I want a photo with costume… can do that myself.

Is this painter famous? Why is a certificate of authenticity required and who would you sell the portrait to that would need evidence it is real or is it just for your piece of mind this artist made it?

    • Perhaps it certifies that:
      a) it's really a dog, and
      b) it belongs to you.

You can use it in case there is a mix-up at the pound.

I wish you all the best with your art business - OzBargain is full of penny pinchers who are unlikely to pay for this service though. Art is very subjective in general, there will no doubt be people who do it for less $$, though whether their art is as good or not is another thing.

I’ll echo Marrk, this pricing doesn’t seem unreasonable given the effort involved in creation. That said I couldn’t justify the expense, despite how much I love my pets. Good luck with your business.

I'd pay $397 but the $9.99 shipping is a deal breaker

Having worked for an art gallery that sold these I would wager money these are Chinese made.

    • any clues that make you think it's not a legit oz artist?

    • Nope, they all created by myself in Australia :)

You can easily get the oil painted effect in most photo editing software and print it to any size you want.

    • True, but my previous customers agree that they would prefer an actual artwork :)

  • May not be equivalent but does the OP want to provide how this is different to a service like: https://www.paintyourlife.com/pet-portraits-gallery.php which is $245 (20X25cm)

    • At a glance, that service is better quality artwork, and larger pictures, and less than half the "regular" price of OP's "deal"

I'll run ya photos through Adobe and apply all the oil filters for only four easy payments of $49.95.

+$600 for a pet painting before discount with only one sample painting which I personally don’t think looks great isn’t a bargain. Seems like advertising for a new service.

All jokes aside, I do sincerely wish the artist the best. I do not for a moment think these are made in China after visiting the website; she is quite talented

  • Love the time lapse, very gifted. Just need to get myself a dog

  • Can you do my ex gf in pitbull portrait?

    • Get rid of her and date Rosie O'Donnell?
