Mercedes Me Bluetooth Adapter - Free For Existing MB Owners

1280

For those with Mercedes Benz vehicles, recently I had my car serviced and was offered a free Mercedes Me Bluetooth Adapter. For info my car (W205 class MY14 build) is 5 years old and out of warranty.

This is a plugin device that goes into your OBDII port and communicates with your phone via bluetooth. Pretty nifty since it picks up all the fuel consumption, speed, location and puts it all in an App (android/IOS)

Doesnt have the full blown features like remote start etc, but its nice for the tech enthusiast.

You will need to create an account on your Mercedes-Benz.com.au and link your vehicle details. The module is apparently free from your local mercedes dealer. With rego and app setup etc it took around 15 mins to setup overall.

Mate had a 2013 B Class and also got this for free after contacting the dealer.

p.s. You will need to have a high yield investment to get this

        • Should definitely work!

  • 84 people on ozbargain have a Mercedes Benz.

I am sure there are alot more and not bother to reply. MB is no sig difference to Toyota these days.

      • hahaha

      • I am sure, most of the comments by non-Merc owners 😄

          Possibly car-less.

    • Yes, all the money you saved on Ozb goes toward the Benz. ;)

  • Thanks, I got this for my AMG W10 EQ Power+

    • Hi Valtteri, it's James….

I’m sorry but if you own a merc and are on Oz bargain clearly you can’t afford the repayments 😂

      The opposite. Paid outright.

      • Likewise, Ozb helps you save up money for the finer things in life.

    • Quite the opposite. Most ozbargainers have alot of money. They just save so much that they can outright afford anything and everything.

  • Plugged it in but can't seem to detect it over bluetooth, anyone know how to enbale pairing on it?

    • Pairs like any other device in Android.

Dealer said not to authorise the Dongle's BT request for contacts/call history, as it might muck up the handshake process.

  • Thanks , just In time. Dropped off my car for service today and say it’s free, thanks. And I’ve checked , they said no Subscription fee.

    high yield investment…

Mine makes me make money :)

Alas, no love for commercial Mercs in this case :(

  • Just sent this to a friend who works at Mercedes, they said:

“Yeah the data it is sending us back is ridiculous. Would not reccomend to anyone haha 😂”

    • I got a service proposal with a quote from Mercedes me adapter registered dealer via Mercedes me & email, and the quoted price was exorbitant. (Basic A service oil change $682 plus dust filter replacement $155). I got my A service done at another dealer for around $500 including the dust filter.
I’ll get rid of the adapter in the near future.

  • Does this do anything Torque Pro doesn't do?
