If it's like their other promotions, it normally takes a bit of time (a few days).

  • +3

I think this is a targeted promotion. I received a similar email but instead of a 10c voucher, I got 250 points. So if you haven't got the email you won't get anything.

    • +1

Yes I agree. It's a targeted promotion. I got the bonus points offer instead of the 10c fuel discount too.

    • -1

may be woolworth know that i need fuel vuocher rather than bonus point hahahaha

      • +1

Maybe its giving you the one you're least likely to need so it costs them less.

      • it would make more sense that they are offering you the discounts or bonuses based on your redemption preference

some people get 2/4 points per litre, some prefer the 4c/8c per litre

    • yes, this is a targeted promotion, here is the email I received.
      Things you should know
This offer only applies to Everyday Rewards cardholder 9568745322335922
Offer valid from Tuesday 16 August to Sunday 21 August 2011
This offer can only be redeemed once during the offer period
You must download the app and login to your Everyday Rewards account to qualify for your
      reward
If you have chosen to swap fuel savings for points when you fill up, your fuel voucher will be
redeemed according to your preference at that time.
Your fuel voucher will appear in your Everyday Rewards account up to 7 days after the
      promotion end date

  • was wondering how long it was going to take them to bring out the app. now for a different app to xreference the woolies shopping list to show if coles or aldi have the item cheaper (and stock level!)

discriminative to the rest of us uncool kids

dumbasses - there are phones other than the iphone

    • +3

No one is forcing you to get it. Was that comment helpful?

  • That's so weird! My husband got an email about the Woolworths app but was offered 250 Qantas frequent flyer points!

      • Maybe people who use their card a lot are being offered the 10c fuel voucher while those who don't they're probably like "pfft here's 250 bonus points".

In regards to the app…I was initially impressed by the Barcode scanner built in. Scan a product's barcode and it would show you the price, if it was on special and how much you'd save and even which aisle it was in your local shop!! However that lasted only for a few days. It seems they have now removed the price functionality so you no longer see the price of the item…..what a shameful removal of a great functionality!

I suspect they didn't want people standing in Coles and checking the woolies price over the air….

Perhaps if retailers in Australia tried to embrace the future and innovate instead of living in the dark ages then they might not be complaining of late (not that the supermarkets are doing badly atm!)

    • Sounds like a great feature. Woolworths also gets to track which items are most scanned and by which demographic. I can see why they removed it however. A little too much information in the hands of the consumer.

    • I noticed prices on a few, but not all, items I searched for. Maybe by the time I got to using it they were already in the process of removing prices. "My specials" is still showing prices and not just how much you can save.
They used to have a "Price Check" feature on their website a few months ago. It was pretty slow to use and didn't have the prices of everything but it still allowed you to see prices and specials at your local store. Maybe when they tweak it a bit more they might bring it back and add it to this mobile app. Hope so anyway.

    Android or bust.

  • Is there anyway to link the shopping list to Woolworths online cart ?

  • I only got the usual spam of offers :'(

Do you neg every iPhone related deal because you don't have an iPhone or do you have a soft corner just for Woolies?

      • +3

That's not really what he's complaining about though, is it?

Apple releasing iPhone only apps = OK
iPhone developers releasing iPhone only apps = OK
Large retailer chain doing the same = Not OK

Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and only Android users got a 10c fuel voucher, how many neg's would that have gotten??

        • +3

Fair point, but that is no reason to neg the deal. Just because some people can't take advantage of the deal, doesn't mean the deal is bad for all.

Anyways, now that he has revoked his neg and is just commenting in general, that is completely fine.

    • thats just straight up ignorant

    • +7

thanks for all the deals you have posted 93551140, great contribution!

Would you be happy if they released an Android app too?

    • +1

Just because all their directors have iPhones

They are actually issued with company blackberries, not iPhones…

      • Being issued with a company phone and actually using it are 2 very different things..

I know quite a large number of people who have iPhones for business use that wasn't issued to them, and let their company phone sit in the drawer sans sim…..

  • +1

I'm sure it'll come out on Android later. May as well release each one when they're completed rather than holding off just to pander to a minority?

    • +2

      pander to a minority? :-)

Some android guys might take offence to being called a minority :-) I get yoru logic though get it out as soon as its ready,

  • +3

Good on them for excluding android…which is like what? 50% of smartphone users facepalm

  • +1

I'll care when an Android version is released.

  • Same as OP, downloaded the apps and logged into my everyday account - no sign of 10c discount

    • -2

So why did you vote for it then?

  • +1

Yes, they ARE working on an Android version.
So then I'll have to whine about the lack of a Maemo/Meego version instead.
I see nobody has asked for a Windows Mobile version :-)

Android is probably a little trickier due to the broader choice of hardware.

The "build shopping list using barcode scanner" feature could be awesome, if done well.

  • too bad they are not selling unleaded 91 anymore. now their 'regular' unleaded has 10% ethanol. even if they give me 20c I wont go there. 50c maybe.

    • +1

Where are you talking about, that has 10% ethanol? Not here.

    • +2

I use E10 all the time, in fact, been using it for the past 3 years, no problem so far. touch wood.

      • We learnt in high school chemistry than E10 produces 4% less emissions and 10% less power than ULP (not to mention engine wear and maintenance costs). Which makes me wonder why it is only 3c cheaper than ULP…

        • not sure about the less power part, my car is weak no matter what you put in it.

        • @citybargainhunter;

          That's because 0 - 10% = 0. =]

  • ANDROID please excuse me? Looks like woolworth marketing department is run by the "i-phone" guys

  • How do you sign up for an award account, what is it?

  • Post does not mention that you have to be pre-selected to participate in the promotion. If you are pre-selected, you would have received an email about it anyway. This upsets me because I went out of my way to get to a store to sign up for Woolworths rewards and then come back home complete registration (giving them all of my personal info), download the app, install it, put my login credentials into the app. Only then when I can't find my 10c voucher I look into the comments and find I had to get selected by email! This blows my chances of getting an email since I already installed the stupid app. I don't understand how this can have 64 "+"es. Definitely NOT a bargain.

    • -1

read my warning on my post before you neg every single post in here.

  • I just signed in using both my ipad and iphone under 2 separate cards which are linked. Lets see if i get 2x 10c vouchers :D

  • I got my fuel voucher today
