Absolutely. Yesterday was playing on servers with around 150 ping.
Use the server browser.
Not sure about others but 150 ping for an FPS is a no go for me.
In a team based game like Bad company 2 its fine. Its not a twitch shooter like 3/4 so you dont need to worry too much.
I had no issues.
I hosted an Oceanic server but no ones ever jumping in it so I've cancelled the hosting, will expire next month. If people were using it I would have kept it up
You could organise an Ozbargain "playgroup" - problem solved.

Yeah as Lysander said, I reckon you could pull together users from OzB and Whirlpool to easily have a few regular nights a week that people would jump on. I know I would and looks like from the comments here that a few others would too.
I tried to do it on whirlpool and they kept deleting my posts, I posted on Reddit and got a fair bit of interest but nothing ever eventuated. I'll leave the server up for the next month and someone else can try organising it, if it's popular i'm happy to keep paying to keep it up lol

This is my favourite Battlefield game but not a soul playing on the 3 Australian servers. Would love to see those populated, I'd be jumping right in to play again.

Awesome game but there's no aussie player base anymore. Get BF3 or BF4.
As everyone else said, online is dead. IIRC the SP campaign is pretty trash so I can't recommend that either.

Such a great game, spent so many hours on it back on X360. Really hope they either remake it with modern graphics or make BC3 one day.
