Why would I pay $2 for an app that shows me the content of https://projectzerothree.info/

    • +5

      +1

unless all proceeds go to Projectzerothree & original creators, i cannot support it

  • +3

I hope they haven't just taken master131's projectzerothree and put it into an app and charging people for it. Check this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288802 for more info and ways to donate to them.

Master131 created a JSON API specifically for apps to link in with his site :)

      • +1

so @misterpotatomato could charge money for just an app frontend ???

It's like these people charging for weather apps.

  • Is this just using projectzerothree API? Or is it actually checking 7-eleven?

    • -5

      Using the API

  • NSW can just use FuelCheck for free and Government owned.

    • This gives you prices AU wide

        a niche market indeed

PetrolSpy is another good app with a website too.

  • Shame ElevenMe app has stopped working on iOS. Won't open after the latest update.

    • Works for me still, version 1.1.2 on iOS13.3.

      • Downloaded v1.1.2 again and app stils crashes when trying to open.

        • Damn that sucks, hopefully the next update will fix whatever is causing your crashes.

Why not let the member post?

      • +4

Which was already right there in the forums, and the creator didn't really feel the need to have it posted

Given the feedback here, it just seems like bad publicity

        I'm just wanting to contribute

No you are not. You did not even bother to link post from OP that is here -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/510870

in the true spirit of OzBargain

someone's new here. there are free options for the same service. the fact that this is an app that makes the process more concise is nice, but is not done in the "true spirit of OzBargain" if it costs more than the aforementioned free options.

-edit - spelt "true" like a moron

Fantastic app if you like paying for things you can otherwise get for free!

  • So I used this app or https://projectzerothree.info/ to find the cheaper option, spoof the GPS, save the price in the 7/11 app and then go get some fuel locally?
    Is that the idea?

    • Lol, thanks for negging a question….

  • +6

Ive added this to my wishlist for when i win the lotto, right under paying for winrar

  • +2

Why would I pay got something that I can easily get for free…

  • +1

does this app allows me to do everything in one app? Check price, spoof, lock and fill from home in one app?

    • No, but once you purchased this app, it will upgrade your car to water-fuelled. For only $2.99 $1.99!

  • +1

I thought someone already created an app name: ElevenMe and it's free aswell.

@sharka - you're not doing @misterpotatomato any favours with your description. You probably mean well, but it sounds spammy and you're missing vital information.

    Please add to the description:

Support misterpotatomato by paying for it via the appstores: Apple ($1.99 introductory price) | Android ($2.99). This will help them create better UX, and help build apps quicker!

    Fueltastic Free Web Version
    Master131's Free API

See the forum post @misterpotatomato created with their app information.

  • I think poor mrpotatoemato is going to miss out on a payday because someone didn't research the saturation of these comparisons sites in the market place and they are free .

    My love is petrolspy .

    • I really like it too but does not seem to be updated often enough.

  • Post to neg.

  • Hey everyone :). I wrote the app.

I specifically decided against posting it as a deal because its hella dodgy for me to write the app and then post it as a bargain (its OzBargain, not OzIMadeAnAppPleasePayMeForIt). Plus, you can use the web version of it for free, so its not a bargain to pay for the phone app when you can use the web app for zero dollars. But that said, I'm honored that Sharka thought it good enough to post it as a deal.

So the context of the app and why it exists has been lost, and I'll talk about why I wrote it and why it exists. I wrote the app in Flutter which recently added beta support for web. This is pretty exciting for me, as it means I can write an app that functions across iOS, Android, and Web platforms. The completely free version of Fueltastic is hosted here: https://fueltastic.codemagic.app/.

The app purchase functions as a conversion effort to help fund future development. For example, I have to buy a Mac Mini to use as a build box in the future because you can only run builds for iPhones on a mac. The idea was that people could use the web edition of the app completely for free, and then pay for the app to support future development.

If anyone has any questions about the app or Flutter development I'm more than happy to help.
