It's all up and down with you. ;)

  • I have 2 of the cloud up 2 person 20D silicone nylon tents. Brilliant quality and super light. I would expect to pay around $1000 for one these in a bricks and mortar store. Hey Op how about a deal on a very low temp sleeping bag. I'm after a comfort -10 or -15. My old one the loft is more clump than loft after 25 years.

    • Grabbed one of these tents just before Chrissy, amazed at the size and low weight. +1 for a low temp down quilt or bag please

@ShipShapeRC are you connected to NatureHike by any chance?

I agree, it does appear like a paid review.

Took a look at all the past naturehike posts.. Pretty much all of em with same recycled comment.

The Cloud Up series is a direct rip off of the Big Agnes Fly Creek series which is $500 new. The Naturehike is fine quality but cannot match the Big Agnes in quality, weight or warranty (I own both, a 1p Fly Creek and a 3p Cloud Up). Its a good bargain option but is definitely not worth anything near $1000.

How do you go any keeping a white tent looking clean?

        • +2

Stick to the snow and don't go anywhere near the outback !

          • @FLICKIT: Salient advice!

          • +2

@FLICKIT: I did the Larapinta Trail with my light grey Fly Creek (surely that counts as outback). I used a groundsheet, and gave it a wipe down when I got home, tent looks as good as new.

@el_cheapo: My comment was tongue in cheek ;)

@FLICKIT: I know, just wanted to humble brag about doing Larapinta ;P

      • yup, and they're a tight fit for two

    • Woah, you expect to pay $1000 for this copied tent with lower quality & no warranty?? Even when the original one is selling for a lot less??

Geez.. no wonder lightweight hiking gears are priced in the crazies, it's cause of people & comments like this..

  • Oh the updated one has a better frame, especially down at the feet. It will give you more space inside and it's stronger in the wind. I have seen youtube of the non-upgraded ones bopping around in strong winds.

  • I assume the title is a bit deceptive and the 2 person tent will not be $119 ?, $160 maybe? …

Edit… and are they the same as the ones on ebay for $146?, or is that the older version?

    • Ok, cool, the light green and orange are $119 :)

Hmmm, now do I want to spend $119 to save 1kg and upgrade my old faithful Companion Pro Hiker…

  • Loved the Tent, really really light, fantastic bang for buck!

  • Have anything similar to the 'Kelty - Dirt Motel'

Couldn't find anything on your site with a similar high roof.

  • which model is most similar to the msr hubba hubba nx 2p?

The grey is 20D nylon - don't bother with the green or orange as they are a weaker polyester.

This is a truly great tent for the price, I've slept in the Cloud 2 (mine) and the Cloud 3 (provided by a tour company) in the Peruvian mountains and had no issues with either, including in pretty solid wind (although definitely not a four season tent). My brother is taking my Cloud 2 to Patagonia this week, so in a few months I'll be able to give more info on how it handles wind.

Personally I'm going to buy a 3F Lanshan 2 to replace my Cloud 2… should save me a fair bit of weight.

  • I have used the Cloud 2 at Torres Del Paine, Patagonia with 50km winds and Iran at night and it held up. Had to use rocks to hold the tent down because the pegs may not be strong enough. Fantastic value!

  • Hmm ordered the orange at time in lightning deal… But now it says pending delivery date "We’ll ship your order as soon as possible
This usually happens when an item doesn’t have a release date, it’s pre-ordered, or it’s out of stock."

Ugh.. that's disappointing and not sure how this happens during a lightning deal if they know the stock numbers?!

EDIT: Shows as in stock when looking it on Amazon… Will contact them
