Did some googling and it seems the going rate for organic coconut flour is often <$10/kg.

I sometimes feel ozbargain is used as an advertising board for things that are barely bargains.

    • If by "sometimes" you mean "mostly" then I agree… It's getting a bit out of control

    • Hi brokeunikid, yes, there are different grades of coconut flour depending on sustainability and source and this will determine price. Ours is slightly more expensive then standard organic coconut flour due to its quality and the farming behind it, which we mentioned in the description. It's simply a matter of choice as to whether its in your price range or not, but for us it is $4 off the normal price until Sunday.

Lol 'in my price range or not' - could you be more condescending?

I was simply referencing the fact that this is a bargain site and a small reduction in your everyday price does not necessarily constitute a bargain, especially when similar organic products are available elsewhere for cheaper.

I appreciate retailers posting deals for us, but it dilutes the entire premise of the site if people just post random stuff to get people on their website.

  • Affordable eh…

100% of our suppliers profits going back to equipping villages

Imo it feels weird to say that and not mention if your profits go towards anything.

    • Hi Jenny, the supplier has won awards for their sustainability practices in the Phillipines and policy to give all profits back to the surrounding community. You can look them up at www.niulife.com.au

  • Hey OP it would be great to see you source some wild turkish apricots, like the half fruit ones, the full ones don't taste as electric. The half ones are really dry and tough but tart with the occasional sweet sour one. I used to get them at my local organic shop in New Zealand, but now I've moved back home I've never seen them here in Oz. They look like this https://www.quinta-shopping.eu/en/apricots-wild-growth-untre…

    • Hey ShipShapeRC, unfortunately we haven't seen this product on any of our Australian wholesalers lists. Have you tried the standard Organic Turkish Apricots?….they are very good.

  • How is coconut plants organic when they are pretty resilient to many environmental factors… Just send a marketing ploy just like vegan water

    • Hi chuneeperformance, it's to do with the farming methods and how they treat the trees. The majority of coconut farms use fertilisers on their trees making them 'non' organic. Then there is the facility for manufacturing that has to undergo strict compliance regarding the use of chemicals etc to ensure the product remains organic (from untouched trees). Finally, when importing, there can be no irradiation procedure for the organic certification to hold.

Is there non-organic coconut to begin with? Or do people just thrown random buzz words on everything?

    • These coconuts are lead-free!
