No idea what gin this is but upvoted because of fancy box. 600ml of gins for $49 seems ok.

    • -5

Does it though? Can't you get 700ml of Gordons for $40 usually?

      • +24

Good thing it’s not Gordons in there

      • +2

That's fine? Last time I tried it I thought I'd misplaced the turps bottle by mistake.

  • +11

    Looks like it includes:

    Cedar Fox- Signature
    West Winds – The Cutlass
    Adelaide Hills – 78deg Sunset
    Granddad Jacks – Two Pencils
    Never Never – Triple Juniper
    Loch – Classic Dry
Boatrockers / Hippocampus – Jungle Gin
    Lawrenny – Highlands
    McHenrys – Federation Gin
    Manly Spirits – Coastal Citrus
    Distillery Botanica – Moore’s Roots & Leaves
    Abel Gin Co. – Quintessence

    • I lot of those seem to average around $70-$80 a bottle.

    • Any ides whats in the whisky drams? Cant find details

      • +2

Might be leftover 12 days of christmas stock? If so, the 2019 edition had:
        Caol Ila 12 Year Old
        Wolfburn Northland Single Malt
        Glen Scotia Double Cask
        Cardhu 12 Year Old
        Loch Lomond Original
        Mackinlay's Shackleton Blended Malt
        Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera
        Copper Dog
        Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Ailsa Bay Release 1.2 Sweet Smoke
Isle Of Jura 18 Year Old

        • Some of the whiskeys are the same, but the pack at liquorland is a slightly different. I picked one up the other day, sorry I'm in bed now or I'd write them all up.

    • Well I'm sold!

    • +2

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, I think after the first 3 all will taste the same! 😇

    • It may be different though. checkout vintage cellars december catalogue, the pictures show different ones though pictures incomplete.

Australian Gin average $50 - $100 per 700ml. $49/600ml is great value in any way I see.

Thanks! Silly question, do these expire or have an expiry date printed anywhere on the box or individual bottles?

        • +1

Gin doesn't really expire I don't think. Definitely be fine for years at least.

  • +2

Not a huge difference, but $48.99 at Vintage Cellars
    https://www.vintagecellars.com.au/spirits/gintonica-12-days-…

    • +2

Yes, but if you buy 11 sets from Liquorland you can get two free Spiegelau glasses to drink from :D

  • what price was it?

    • +1

      $129 direct from supplier.

  • Johnnie Walker Set also $20 at Vintage Cellars https://www.vintagecellars.com.au/spirits/johnnie-walker-dis…

  • +3

Dan's similar set has 20.4 std drinks, this one has 16 despite both claiming 12x50ml bottles at 42%….; for those playing the ozbargain cost per std drink game ;-)

    • How much does it cost though?

    • Their Dram whisky is apparently 1.1 standard drinks ?!?

    • It's likely a typo on Liquorland website. At 40%, 600ml has 240ml pure alcohol. 240ml / 12.5ml per std drink equates ~ 19 drinks.

  • +3

    Not available SA?

  • Quick reminder that Vintage Cellars is the same company as Liquorland - just usually in a tonier neighbourhood.

  • None near Wollongong? Finding stock is a nightmare.

  • What does gin taste like? Is it any good?

    • +4

It's like a herbal vodka with a weird aftertaste that sort of grows on you.

    • +1

It tastes like whatever was put into it. Seriously.

Anything from pine and herbal (Genever / Dutch Gin), to citrus (Old Tom Gin), to floral (London Dry Gin), to almost whatever you can imagine ('Modern' Gin).

      See here: https://theginisin.com/styles/

    • I like it, and most wine/drinks either taste bad or burn to me.
Note - I also find toothpaste spicy though so idk.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered a couple of Gin packs for C&C. Good value on these - approx $57/700ml.

  • +2

"Sorry, this product is currently not available."
    Getting this message, SA.

      • +3

'Cause we have great Gin and wine.

  • Thanks, will make a nice birthday present :)

  • Seems like a decent deal. Grabbed a gin pack. Thanks OP

  • Not available ACT?

“Sorry, this product is currently not available.”

  • +1

Won't deliver the Gintonica set, and closest pickup for me (Melbourne) is Mornington.
Why doesn't Liquorland move stock between stores to fill an order?
    :(

    • Have you checked vintage cellars? 1c cheaper as well.

      • +1

We're sorry, but these items are not available via Delivery. Please remove them from your cart to proceed.

        :-(

They have no stock anywhere either for pickup.

  • There is stock of the gin in a few First Choices in Sydney.

  • Picked the Gin Pack up from FC Ashburton - thanks op.

  • Got one of each at Liqourland in Eastgarden, NSW.

    Thanks

  • Guessing their site stats don't update often. Or… Heaven forbid, Ozbargain are pumping up stats.

So far, 2491 click throughs. Liquorland say 804 views today.

  • No link to the first choice listing? I get no results when I search for gintonica or "12 days of gin" on the website. I'm assuming it's not in the ACT for FCL either.

  • I placed an order and received a text today stating it is out of stock and offering me a substitution. Anyone else get this? Can I decline the substitution once accepted incase its a bottle of Gordans??

    • +1

At least you got offered a substitute. I just got told no stock. :(

  • +2

Crap website in 2020, Ergh. Great deal, Unobtainable.

I played battleship with 10 postcodes, and it simply says no stock… Instead of trying a couple, with them showing the nearby stores with/without stock. Ya know, like a normal website.

    • Yeah, safe to consider this one OOS I guess.

      • Just got this cop out from first choice…
