    X34P has been cheaper than this recently and has a much higher refresh rate (100hz OC to 120hz)

    If you have access to discounted EB Games gift card then this can be used in online order. I got an extra $50 discount using my workplace's gift card discount. Obviously not everyone will have this but then someone might find this info useful.

    EB Games just unilaterally cancelled my order and now I am stuck with a giftcard with nothing to buy. This is awful! I am so angry.

      Is the asus monitor that is also on sale an option? i know it may not be what you wanted being VA vs IPS, but its far preferable than being stuck with $800 worth of non-refundable EB vouchers. Although that would get you a lot of pop vinyls

        Thank you for the helpful suggestion! I absolutely agree with you on my options.

        The one I got cancelled on was for the ASUS and then the website showed out of stock following the cancellation. However it looks like the website is showing it's back in stock again so I will place the order for ASUS Strix again. It's very poor form that when they cancelled my order they didn't even call me to explain. Just received refund emails totally out of the blue.

        Fingers crossed it will get honoured this time.

        Liquidity of EB gift card is bad - I spent a lot of time looking around their website looking for alternative purchase options but really was struggling to do so. Imagine if it was JBHifi giftcard I could have found something else to buy more easily. Lessons learnt I guess.

        Also found online EB Games are closing many "unprofitable" stores…. Trading conditions must be really bad - the nightmare scenario would have been it going bankrupt and I am stuck with the giftcard. It has happened before! Dick Smith came to mind…. Gotto be more vigilent with managing counterparty risks.

          Good luck mate i really hope you get your monitor. Like you say, theres not a lot of options for spending that much at EB, unless you want a new xbox/ps5 at the end of the year i guess.

            @DanielP2: Thanks! Yeah unfortunately I am not a console gamer so new consoles aren't going to help me directly - though perhaps it will make it easier to liquidate the gift card.

            Most of the consoles at EB seems to be materially overpriced compared to the regular eBay coupon prices. Granted someone needs to pay for the high rent to maintain the brick and mortar presence. Retail apocalypse is yet to fully unfold!

    Has anyone actually had their order processed/shipped for either monitor? I am starting to think this could be one of those bait marketing tactics to generate traffic for their website even though they have no (or very limited) stock.

      The x34 was discontinued less than a year after is release for the x34p
