    FYI, it's 1440p or QHD.
I assumed it would be at that price, but worth mentioning anyway.

    • it's wider than a regular 1440 its 3440 x 1440

i bought one a couple of weeks ago for 999 and love it. this price is a steal

    • It's "UW-QHD". 3440 x 1440. a fun resolution, I can't go back after upgrading my 16:9 to a 21:9.

    • To expand on that, it's UWQHD or 3440x1440p. So ultrwaide 21:9, might also be called 7:3? Haven't heard anything other then 21:9 though).

Phwoah thats a really good price. Good find

  • Anyone know how this compares to the Kogan variant?

    • +2

I had the kogan one until a few days ago (didnt need two ultrawides). Although it is good for the price, having it next to my x34p made me realise how much better the IPS panel is compared to the kogan's VA.
But I would wager if the kogan monitor was my only screen I would love it. The 100hz was nice and its contrast was awesome, just colour accuracy, viewing angles and brightness left something to be desired.

      • thanks mate! :)

  • Isnt this 120hz?

    • 100hz base with 120hz as an overclock i think

    • Yeah, 100hz default and 120hz overclocked

    • Base is 100 but you can overclock it to 120.

    • +6

100hz should be more than enough given with this resolution it will be difficult to get more than 100-120fps anyway

      • No idea why someone down voted you. You're 100% right for a lot of newer games. Also, once you get to around 100hz anything extra isnt noticeable.

        • I can definitely tell the difference between 120hz and 144hz

        • +5

I can tell the difference between 143.9hz and 144hz

        • +1

          That's just uninformed.

It's very easy to see the difference in games that require extremely fast reactions such as Tetris or Nex Machina.

240Hz is nowhere near what's required for "perfect" temporal resolution but over 1000Hz is where we are going to end up.

      • 100hz should be more than enough given with this resolution it will be difficult to get more than 100-120fps anyway

A majority of games can get 120Hz and many of them using Ultra and High Presets assuming you have the CPU and GPU power.

        • +1

They mean you unlikely will have a powerful enough PC to achieve it

      • Can notice the difference even on the desktop

Good price. Never heard of FTC before though. Has anyone ever dealt with them before?

  • Purchased the Alienware AW3418DW yesterday, ah well

    • +2

      AW3418DW is the better screen

      • But cost $400 extra though…

        • -1

$340 for 120hz over 100hz, better warranty - Dell will likely replace anything goes wrong. Arguably better QC

          • @jar-unit: for one this monitor goes to 120 and two, you will not see a difference in 20hz when you're already at 100..

          • @jar-unit: Wrong they are both 100hz and 120hz once overclocked.

            • @ValouSydney: Correct. I have one. They are pretty similar monitors. This one has speakers. But the Alienware one does have dells superior warranty and a bit better quality control. I would be happy with either.

I bought this monitor 6 months ago,it's absolutely fantastic! I should mention though that QC can be slightly hit-and-miss (typical IPS glow is common) and that with the monitor set to 120Hz with the overclock in, you do get a noticeable corona between contrasting colors (e.g. light grey on black). I use it in 120hz but without the input overdrive on.

I would definitely recommend the monitor though. It's been amazing for both work and gaming!

God I paid almost double this when it was released. Amazing deal.

Thank you, I have been waiting for this!

  • SUCH A GREAT PRICE!! Highly recommended.

I bought mine at $927 2 months ago. Very happy with it.

I went from 2x27" to this single 34"

  • Doubt they still have them but a couple of months back they had these for around $650 at 2nd's World in Auburn.

Side note, had this monitor for over a year now. Love it.

    • I Went there a Month ago and they were still there, However it was the Older X34, The New Model they were selling them for $750 also both were Factory seconds with 12 Months warranty.

  • Got this monitor. Awesome display.
Paid a little over $1k for it when it was on sale through CA.

  • +1

holy crap, it's like $100 drop in value a month, only bought mine back in July for just over $1200, and that's after discount, rip
