  • My bad, I thought this was the N455 model, this if the specs are right is the N550 dual core atom which makes it a good deal

it should really mention you have to add shipping to the total, which is $15.95 to Sydney

Megabuy have the worst after sales service I have ever encountered.

I would avoid them if you want warranty.

    • agreed, just look them up on whirlpool.net.au forums to see just how bad they can be

  • Bought a HP Mini 110 from Dandenong Harvey Norman for $240, and had identical features to this netbook except it had a Intel Atom N570 instead of N550. Fo those that can find a non-dodgy Harvey Norman, you'll get better service than Megabuy.

    • I know it's just a mini, but would that hp one have any overheating issues like the laptop. I'm looking for something small and convenient to take with me overseas on my exchange trip. Hope there's some left.. Dande is just 2 minutes away from me

Better fish in the sea with the better C50 CPU around the SAME price bracket, Not a bargain for Moi…

    • the asus also has better reputation + HDMI

    • The C50 cpu isn't better but the gfx support whoops much llama bottom. It's because of that that I'm not really regretting my Asus 1015b purchase.

Now, if this had a better res, I'd be weeping.

      • The C50 is a better CPU against MOST of what we throw at it lest it be multimedia or NOT, hence it IS a BETTER CPU in comparison to all these Atoms !, Besides if you really wanted a bit more power you would opt for the E350, i did and i had them side by side, the difference is QUITE noticeable, so is the Price… ;)

      • Interesting. I think http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-C-50-Notebook-Processor.409… is what I was recalling.

        • DoNt blindly believe those bechie generated websites…, they give you a rough idea…, you really need to test it out yourself or watch actual factual videos to make sense of the comparison. Go to HV, JBs or OW and play with them then make you OWN decision ! ;)

Is the HP mini at harvey norman 6cells too?

  • I've had a s10-2 for almost a year now. The WiFi sensitivity is worse than any laptop I've ever owned and it overheats like crazy. The fan on mine has now had so much use the bearings are gone and it makes a banshee like scream when I power up. I'm hopefully sending it back for replacement.

I'll buy an Asus next time.

  • I was at Orange IT (CBD branch) on Thursday and I saw a Lenovo netbook (I believe it might have been this model) for just under $200.

Might be worth dropping into the store to check it out.

    • I bought one from Orange IT for $197, however its only the single core N455 Atom rather than the dual core this has

Orange IT have it listed as around $230ish now in its Haymarket Store and its website too now

Yep, you can get the Single-Core N455 for around $230 and not just from Orange IT. This is however a Dual-Core N550 for $239.95, which is damn good deal for that price. You need to make sure you're comparing apples with apples. As for the HP someone has mentioned at HN that's almost $400 ($160 more expensive!) and as correctly pointed out it's a pretty similar spec with a slightly faster N570 processor(N570 1.66GHz vs N550 1.5GHz).

    • Yeah but your megabuy, so nobody wants to buy it from a company like yours.
