I have lots of automatic belts. Generally speaking the buckles are all decent quality. Even the ones i paid about 6 dollars for. The belts are the part that is hit and miss. If it is in fact genuine leather then it should be a pretty good belt. At this price it is about what i'd expect for a real genuine leather belt version. You cut them shorter to fit. The clip that holds the end of the belt to the buckle can rip the leather after time on pleather and you have to cut it a little shorter to fix it until the rachet insert can no longer clip around your waist.
If you have a larger waist this is not a bad deal. Once you start using rachet/automatic belt it is hard to go back to a regular belt. I never will. The pleather fake leather ones are cheaper on ebay. But if this is real leather then this price is ok. Saves you ordering a bunch that claim to be leather and having to claim on paypal when a pleather one turns up. Happened to me 2 times in the past.

      • To stop the clip from tearing the belt, I usually cut a square piece from a plastic soft drink bottle and put it between the belt and the clip and then close the clip.
It's a bit hard to close but once closed it stays perfectly. I've never had a belt tear on me again.

        • good tip. I did a similar thing with an off cut of an old belt using half of the double layer leather. I suspect plastic would be firmer and a better idea as it would hold the belt flatter. Cheers!

      • Whats the easiest way to tell if it is genuine leather (the pleather I've seen looks really good nowadays)?

  • Says fits pants from 45-50 inches. A bit big for most people, no?!

    • You cut one end down to whatever size you need.
