Nice to see more products produced for the Amiga. I'm still pondering whether to get a Vampire for my 1200 or go for a Standalone.

    • Tough choice… I was leaning towards standalone because I wouldn't have to worry about recapping or repairs to the old motherboard.

Oh goodness, I have so many happy Amiga memories LOL!! Even used to run my own bulletin board (this was in the days before the internet).

  • Have Amigaos been alive all this time or are they making a comeback? Its been over 20 years since I gifted mine to my cousins

OS3.1.4 was released for 68k Amigas back in 2018 , so its been kicking along slowly all this time - albeit with a 20 odd year gap between releases.
But still cool to see new OS versions for a computer thats 30+ years old

There were other releases (3.5 and 4) but they needed either a 68020 or a PowerPC machine

      • I had many years of fun with my VIC-20, then C-128, then finally the Amiga. I dont think I could go back from A Playstation now, but back in its time it was a wonderful machine

  • Ah many fond memories of my A1000 - now that was a real computer :)

my A500 is still going strong.. wish I had a 1200 though

    • Have a A2500 with 68030 CPU card and Sidecar that might go on eBay one of these days:)

      • Was thinking of putting my still working A3000UX + CyberStormPPC ('060 + 180MHz PPC) + Picasso IV (with all add-ons) + other assorted hardware on eBay since I'm moving house …

But then I packed it away and decided to put off the decision for another 20 years.

Recently sold my original AMIthlon/AmigaOSXL on eBay for more than I paid new back in 2001/2.

Same here, I periodically look at ebay but can't stomach the prices of a 1200.

    • Mine was before I gifted it to a collector but the floppy wouldn't work when inserted unless I pushed down a little in the slot - then a click and off she went. Fond memories.

I remember telling my girlfriend a couple of years ago, "You just have to see the graphics of Elite on the Amiga! Simply amazing!"

And then when I googled it: https://www.old-games.com/screenshot/318-11-elite.jpg

I didn't google Pirates or Defender of the Crown so at least I'd still have some cool memories ;)

  • I'm the biggest Amiga fan,was one of the first to buy Amiga 1000.

Would I go back to Amiga. No

Too much time has gone past and everyone had moved on to better things.

    Wish them all the best.
