      How good is it?

You have to have a go to get a go.

      • Fair enough. :)

Have used this for the past 2-3 years and has held up very well, fairly comfortable for extended uses. For the price its great

      • +1

Thanks. Will get one if I'll be lucky enough to get there before it gets OzBargained.

      • Hear hear!

After having this and a Buro Metro chair, this chair really is built to a price.

The seat feels cheap and there really isn't much cushion for my 70kg ass. I'd say save your money and buy something quality the first time.

    • this comes up pretty much every year, search old deals for more discussion

    • +1

I bought 3 of these and all 3 have all the wheels fail within 6months. The actual chair is great but the wheels are cheap and will fail less than a year.

I changed the wheels to Rollerblade Style Rubber Replacement Wheels from amazon much better.

I have one. It's okay but I don't like it that much. No enough padding.

The hold for the lumbar support doesn't hold up on mine anymore and my son broke an arm off his. I'm 120kg/6' and he's ~90kg/6'4".

I wouldn't get it again but they are still doing the job.

  • +1

Anyone know if you can remove the arm rest or adjust the height?

    • You can't adjust the armrest height, also you can go without armrests.

      • -6

also you can go without armrests

That would make the chair armless…

        • Does the chair have a mother?

        • Very astute, jv.

you can remove the arm rest but you can't adjust height.

      • Thanks for the heads up.

Given the fights that happened when Aldi released the maternity/feeding chair, this might be good free entertainment on a Saturday morning

    • +1

it's getting alot better these days
      snow gear ain't as crazy
even things like kids trackers and ride ones ain't as bad
I got a robot vac on sale after a month.

think people are slightly over the push and shove for these products, besides the face creams, that's nuts

      • +1

The worst I saw was a few years back when they released the Disney bed spreads for kids. I saw 3 mothers get into a cage fight basically and one left with a bleeding nose. It was a shame I couldn't get to the popcorn fast enough to really enjoy.

        • +3

Popcorn is in isle 2 middle shelf halfway down

    • This year's release of the maternity chair didn't sell as well. It was on clearance at my aldi for yonks

  • looks a lot like buro metro

  • +5

Bought a couple of these in the previous sale. The padding is very thin and not suited to extended sitting sessions.

In the future I'll be forking out a bit of extra money for a chair at OW.

forking out a bit of extra money for a chair at OW.

      Mr. Moneybags !!!

      • Crazy levels of expense!

        • extra money

Isn't that like an illegal phrase on OZB?

    • +2

i owned one, i am OK with it, but my mrs have the same comment with yours… not suited for extended sitting…
she hurted her back for sitting too long on this chair

    • What if you put a cushion on it?

      • +1

Might make it better. The lumber support isn't great either though.

        • Damn! That sucks. Someone said in another comment they bought one for $30 so I might not bother with it then.

          • +2

@AussieDaddy: Chairs are one of those 'buy right buy once' items. You'll spend more money buying shit chairs multiple times.

How much is it normally ?

    • +4

      You must be new here.
ALDI has these "special buys", which are mostly junk, but occasionally awesomely priced loss-leaders, worthy of bargain status. There is no "normally".
I can't comment on this particular one.

          Never heard of irony?
I know it is hard to pick tone in the written word, but if you see someone saying something that is clearly, obviously not literally true, you might consider the possibility.
I have a certain respect for Mr Verne, but sometimes …

  • I remember before these were always remaining until 50% off, I bought one myself for $30, still have it, good for the price, seat cushion is sagging though

120 kg chair on ozbargain ?

  • +2

Personally, I didn't like it and ended up buying another chair.

How do you find deals earlier than what's advertised on the Aldi website?
    Cheers.

    • +2

      In the paper catalogues.

      • Ohh ok.
        Thanks.

I've had one of these for a while - they come up quite often at Aldi. I use it for when I'm working from another location to my normal office.
It sucks so bad if I have to spend a whole day using it!! But then it was 1/10th the price of my normal chair (Ergohuman thing that was worth the money). So I'm not being fair comparing it to something that was so much more expensive. Just me trying to say - wish I hadn't cheaped out on this chair and that it made me realize there is something to the rip off expensive ones.

  • Actually I don't understand how Aldi sells their products. I have to remember when their products are on sale.

    • -1

It makes you invested. Almost forcing you to sign up to it's newsletter and/or visit the store for the catalogue

  • luv it , had over a year, didn't trust, bought 2nd as backup, haven't needed it yet, better than officeworks cheapies, which i have a few of(broken) in garage

  • -1

    Good for the price

  • +3

Not good for sitting in extended periods of time. Needing to change to something else soon, after sitting in this same chair for the past year.

  • +4

I have this chair. It’s not very good. A very regretful purchase.

  • Chairs are rated for the amount of time spent sitting on them. I bought one 2 years ago and love it bit I rarely sit on my chair for more than an hour and probably 3 times a day. I weigh 70 kilos. I took my arm rests off as I don't like them anyway. This chair still looks and feels like new. I love it. My wife needed a chair that allows her to sit for 8 hrs a day so she has an expensive chair with 3 adjustment levers so this chair wouldn't suffice.

  • Picked up some secondhand okamura baron chairs for $100 each ($900 chairs)

    • Got a link to the listing you purchased from?

        • Are the arms adjustable for both width and height? Did you get to choose the chairs you took?

          • @sabracad: I went straight to his storage/warehouse rather than purchase off ebay and just paid in cash (https://www.gregsofficefurniture.com.au). We just grabbed the closest two chairs that were all jammed in down a narrow aisle and the ones pulled out were in good condition. Unfortunately the ones closest were actually without the arm rests which I didn't notice at the time until I arrived home. I also forgot to request a receipt (which I could have used at tax time). I'd suggest just go to his warehouse, take your time and have a look at all the chairs, and request a receipt!

            • @mshanann: Thanks.

I'd already bought off Ebay (and saved $3). When I went in the woman in the office had the chair ready. The arms weren't too bad but had a few rough patches and she said it was probably the best of a bad bunch for those that had arms and if I decided to make a return it wouldn't be a problem. Both arms have markings at the highest points which look similar to chairs we have at work where the cleaners damage them by forcing them under the desks after vacuuming. One was worse than the other though almost like whatever it had been shoved under had something sharp it had hit a few times. I was in a hurry so I took her word for it. She gave me an invoice without asking - although she'd already emailed it to me.

  • Anyone got a link to the full catalogue?

Purchased and assembled it. Note there is no tilt function.

  • Good deal for some second hand Haworth office chairs in Brisbane that just popped up …
