NordPass Password Manager with 50% Discount for $1.99/Month + 6 Months for Free

64
NPASSHELLO

Found this coupon code on Retailmenot page, thought it's a decent price for a password manager. Also, they seem to be using the most advanced encryption type out there - XChaCha20. I just downloaded it myself, so can’t say much, whether it’s really worth your time.

  • So, 7 months for $1.99?

    • Um, as far as I understand, you get 6 months for free and then pay each month $1.99, so in total you will get billed $59,76 every 2 years

I believe this is the same company as this:
    https://www.cpomagazine.com/cyber-security/vpn-services-now-…

Not saying its indicative of their password management service but caveat emptor

    • +4

Very important. They hid the fact they'd been compromised until it was about to be exposed.

Happy to use their vpn as i don't use it for security, but a password manager? NFW!

Better password managers like Bitwarden, lastpass have better features and are more trustworthy. They have free options to suit most people.

      • +1

I personally use Lastpass though I'll give a +1 to Bitwarden for their extra step in publishing their source code

        • Torguard hid it as well, though say 'nothing' was breached and +1 for Bitwarden

    • Considering all the offered features, the brand seems improved, so I doubt there is anything to worry about. Also, Nord has several different products now, so it doesn't matter really. I'm guessing they should be judged separately.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Only idiots use Nord.

        • Most people use Nord for US netflix and "Linux isos", there is literally no difference between using Nord or another paid VPN service in regards to that, you shouldn't be paying for a third party VPN service if you are using it to truly hide your identity in the first place. I do agree that the password manager shouldn't be used though.

      • the brand seems improved

        Genuinely curious; in what way?

LastPast free does everything I need in a password manager

    • +1

I agree, why would anyone pay for this?

      • The app on Mac and my S10 5G arent great. I'd pay for a version that works well.

    • +1 for this - yeah, I use the free version of Lastpass - it has most of what you'd need without needing to go to the paid version

      edited for clarity of message

    • Obviously I meant www.lastpass.com above, not Lastpast

    Bitwarden is better.

    • +1

Much better and its free and open source.

  • -2

Only mugs pay for password manager. Oh and open source is more secure.

    • +3

Open source is more transparent, not more secure.

  • Yes, I use Nord for VPN but no way would I willingly give them my passwords using their password manager. I don't trust them.

  • +2

Keepass and using syncthing to sync to all my devices

  • Wait why pay for a service that is better and few with other providers?

  • Bitwarden is free and open source, this is no deal.

  • Ha ha in five years time or something someone will discover that Nord has been a CIA front all this time….

  • -1

Noone should use a password filler… The best is the old ways, remember it or do as my parents… Write everything down, tape it on the devices and wait to be mugged

    • +1

I mean, if you can remember HHIO7y98yhiuG^&RF! and LASiub23&*GFQ@JK!@ along with dozens of other similar passwords, maybe a password manager isn't for you.

For most mere mortals, however, it is actually useful.

Just use LastPass - does everything you need, is free, and has extensions for browsers and phones.
