    • -2

all proceeds from ticket sales going to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund

      • +8

Donating to a charity is not a bargain…

        • +6

That is exactly what i was thinking, i feel for those affected by bush-fires but in the end of the day something you have to pay for that should be free! isnt a bargain i gave it a like upvote because it is for charity but my point still stands…

    • $6 ? Title says $3, there, you just save $3, it's a bargain.

  • I wonder if there is a Ticketmaster fee for the tickets?
If so, that seems pointless for a $3 ticket price.
Same if a Ticketmaster fee is applied for the free children tickets.

To be honest, for all of that logistics in selling tickets etc., it would have been a lot easier for the entry to be by donation, and would probably make more money for Red Cross.

there's no fee on the buyers order, don't know what ticket master are charging the AFLW.

there's also an option to include additional donation during checkout.

      • Thanks for the info.
As tix are not yet on sale, are you associated somehow?

        • +1

Tickets went on sale this morning,

          not associated, just sharing.

    • +1

They need to cover the "free" public transport.

  • +4

    $3 Adult

    They are charging entry now?

    Why?

    • -1

      For Charity

      • +8

        That's not a bargain though.

        This is OzBargain, not OzCharity.

    • +3

First time held at Optus Stadium and includes free public transport.

      1 zone is already $3.20

  • -5

They should also ask for people who don't want to go and watch the game. They will raise more money.

    • +3

      Yes

    • Why are you so annoying?

      • Who cares?

  • +1

I thought all AFLW matches were free entry?

    It's a great cause, but…a bargain?

    • -1

I thought all AFLW matches were free entry?

They were, this is advertising a price increase

  • -3

Why do they allow you to bring stainless steel containers into the ground, but not aluminium ?

  • +7

If it's normally free but now it's $3 how is this a bargain? This forum should not get flooded with ads.

  • +9

I'd rather just donate $3 and not have to watch AFLW.

    • +2

You do realise that you can do that?

      • +2

oh really. are you sure? geez thanks.

      • +3

You do realise that you can do that?

You mean we can just close our eyes during the game?

Not sure what your point is…

    • +9

It's like you are getting punished for donating money.

  • "We'll keep them really minimal, they'll only be a couple of dollars in terms of the costing of those tickets, but there are some venues that we have to, if necessary, ticket for operational purposes." - Nicole Livingstone, Head of AFLW.
    https://womens.afl/news/18548/2020-fixture-and-conferences-r…

This was in reference to Richmond AFLW games scheduled at Punt Rd Oval with potential to move to an alternate venue if demand exceeded seating capacity. I'm sure similar principle applies with the "operational purposes" at other grounds. Those in charge need to know roughly how many staff they should roster on for catering, security, cleaning, etc. given the expected crowd numbers.

This isn't a bargain, AFLW games are already free and mostly not even attended because they are an inferior standard and product.

Attempting to guilt people into attending by applying a $3 charge that will go to a charity doesn't make it a bargain either.

    This belongs in the forums.

Is there anything near the stadium worth visiting? Crown casino? Get off at the CBD? $3 public transport could be considered the real bargain in the deal, just skip the game.

    • I was thinking same thing. $3 for return to casino, for me that's usually closer to $8.
