Jbhifi offers free local shipping from the link + easy enough to get 5% GC makes it pretty much the same price I think

    Still wondering whether I should get 75" RU7100 or 65" RU8000?

Better screen or bigger? Sofa to TV Unit around 2M.

    OLED too expensive.

2 metres? 65" should be big enough i reckon.. mines about 3m and I have a 65", could easily go up to 75 though..

      • depends on how far back you are sitting, 65 would be way too small in my inlaws L shaped lounge.

        • If I sit back on the sofa properly my eye to the TV unit will be 2.5M

          • @superforever: plenty of guides…
this one seems to have lots of info…
            https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-r…
i feel the guide seems to advocate a bigger TV for the distance (EG optimum distance for a 4K 75inch TV - 1.35 m)
according to the graph, 60-65 for a 4K seems worth it at that distance (minimum size for that distance though)

            • @wisc: Thanks, I think I still prefer 75" because if I sit all the way back and if I hang the TV on the wall it is almost 3M.

I am not in a hurry will see any further discount also need a new TV unit.

*Remembers sitting in the living room thinking how huge our new 25" colour TV set was.

          ;)

for 2-2.2 metres even 55 inch is good..2.5-3.5 meters 65 inch..over 3 meters you can get a 75 inch one..Based on what I have read about viewing distance and angles a 75 inch TV would be too big for you. That too an entry level one..But totally up to you as not everyone cares about all that..If you want to buy a big Telly then by all means buy a big Telly..

    • Worth checking what you can benefit from first, when talking resolution vs distance to seating. Give it a google 'Viewing distance where resolution becomes noticeable'.
      eg. https://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/

      • With the calculator for 4k and 75" it said

For 4k (3840×2160) resolution, you must sit:
5 feet or closer to see all available detail

Buy a used 65" TV on gumtree first and use for a few weeks. You'll get a better feel for if you want a larger screen then flip it for the same price you bought it. I picked up a 65" EKO TV for $300 and it's awesome for me (all my TVs are kogan/bauhn etc).
