This was selling for $36 most of December.

Most of the time, since last November it's been either $36, or $42, so saying 'was $60' is misleading as it's not the normal price in recent months…

When people have posted it here at $35 they've put "was $59.95".

      • Why?

    • It's been $60 since January 3rd…

      • That’s not the normal price though.

        • Rrp

          • @cumova: Which is meaningless

            • @jv: Jv lol

              • @cumova: On a bargain site he is right. Its fair to point out its not the best price on these, allowing someone unaware of the lower price, to make an informed choice about the extent of the real bargain. Not simnply the current bargain in isolation of all other prices.

        • Why is $36 the normal price and not $60? Just because it had been on sale for $36? I wouldn't consider it being cheap during another sale means that its normal price.

@ozhunter: reread what was said, never said $36 was normal, just how low its been and that between this price and 36 is where its been for 2 months.

$60 is misleading even if it was that price for a week. Based on that, I could list an item for 1000 for 5 minutes, and use that as the basis for saving.

            • @Tuba: I was replying to jv about him calling it the normal price.

No issue with it being pointed out that is has been a lower price before.

replying to jv about him calling it the normal price.

Where exactly did I state what is the normal price?

What I said was that $60 is not the normal price over recent months.
Most of the time it was selling for far less.

All depends on exactly what you mean by normal, recent, and months lol.

I'd say the normal price was $60 in recent months, but that it has been on sale for less than that in the last couple months.

                    I use the ACCC meaning.

I'm not bashing corelle, but I find that Ikea plates are as good as corelle for a lot less. At $0.70 each plate or saucer, you'll end up paying less. However, I haven't seen the matching mugs in Ikea.

    • Nope, not really the same experience here. The Ikea ones have chipped, cracked or broken, and most annoyingly they seem to get hotter than the actual food in the microwave. The surface scratches easily too. The Ikea pieces (around 50) we bought a few years ago are finished but I've still got 4 corelle bowls from 1994. Their mugs were horrible though, and the saucers went in the bin too, so it doesn't work out particularly cheap for the 12 pieces you might actually want out of the set.

  • These appear warped when you stack them. Can't argue for that price though (I've bought 2 sets at $35 in the past).. they're good otherwise.
