I copy and pasted the link you used, 2 adults and 2 kids and changed it to 2 adults and 1 kid and its cheaper? Same room, same hotel, same dates, same city. Thought kids fly and stay for free.

Another case of misleading advertising for ACCC to look into?

    • As per description it says free for kids if using existing bedding. Maybe, that is why it becomes slightly cheaper as you remove the cost of additional bedding

probably still have to pay the kids' tax..

Any savvy person will always ignore this sale and not to mention any holiday package lol. Do your own work and be flexible

      This.

Virgin are often $500/$600 return with bags. 737 over, but not as miserable as the sardine can Jetstar A320 and less ratio of bogans.

Via this offer if you want baggage add hundreds more.

Accom can be done via Expedia with a promo code.

The frequent flyer points are worth $10-$20.

Jetstar fly the dreamliner from major cities. :p Also the 737 is old, tired and uncomfortable.

        • The Dreamliner has a seat pitch of 30 vs Virgin 32.

Virgin fly its International Designated fleet to Bali which the the latest batch (different life rafts), and these are 0-8 years old.

          • @[Deactivated]: The NG is a mid 90's refresh of a 40 year old airframe. And they still dont have enough toilets.

              @Sawtell: $500? Jetstar is $200.

I actually did some comparing to see how good this offer was.

    JETSTAR:
5 NIGHTS, 2 AD, 2CH. Baggage only 15kg each. No Food Onboard or Entertainment.
TOTAL: 2370 (inc credit card fee)
TOTAL: with Entertainment and Meals: $2600

    VIRGIN:
Flights 2 AD, 2 CH. Baggage is included in fare 23kg, Onboard free streaming, Meals are inclusive. More Legroom, Better overall experience. Lounge access for Gold/Plat and Velocity Point earning, and Status Credit earning.
    $1970 Flights
Accom Comparable to Jetstar 5 nights $700 (Expedia)
    TOTAL: 2670

Velocity Point Earning: Red 10,000, Silver 15,000, Gold 17500, Plat 20,000
STATUS: 240. As a red, you are 10SC of gaining Silver membership. If you are a Silver, you should gain GOLD membership.

So Essentially with Virgin you also net a one way short haul fare worth $100-$150 via points for a basic red member or a long haul domestic flight for plat (worth about $200-$300)

  • Deal is deal but I have checked there is no deal during school holidays (from Brisbane with NSW schools 2020).

  • Ok asking a genuine question here, does anyone have any suggestions in relation to traveling with toddlers?
My wife and I attempted a cruise with our toddler last year (just over 1 at the time) and to be honest,… it was crap. It was just parenting in another location.

So does anyone have any suggestions?
I have been told to look for places with a kids club, but almost every hotel I look at that also has a kids club doesn’t take kids under 4.

Entirely possible that we just need to accept that we may as well go on a holiday for a few more years but figured I would ask any way.

give up- kids make you boring=a fact!!

kids just want a pool and food- we found holiday parks great

    • Hire a local nanny to accompany you at your destination. In Thailand it was about $50 a day, in Bali it was around $30.

LOL @ this guy ^^^ I keep going back to the word "genuine" in your post and I'm struggling to see any in here haha.

    • yeh there is that cr@p stage but it does get better. We went over with a daughter that was 5 but my son was 3 so he couldn't go into any kids clubs. At that age though he was fine to take around and its exciting to share things with. My daughter loved kids club and couldn't get her to come with us even to see the monkeys.

We went over a year later and was excited the son was now old enough to be in kids club. The kids club at the hard rock they didn't enjoy much so we ended up with them more then the last time. Its all hit and miss but its not so bad when they get a little older and you can lounge around while watching them splash around. Also take them places and let them experience the world rather then have them stay being looked after. Get over the baby stage with having to deal with feeds, sleeping etc and it gets better.

  • 9 Nights at Kuta Central Park Hotel, 2 Adults 1 Child, 20kg checkin, Departing ADL all for $1275. Great deal!!

  • There is way to get cheaper clubjetstar membership if you know how ;) through VN site, it is 499k VND (~$32AUD). Not a bad price for the benefits, you get 20% off baggage which is quite good.

  • Does anyone know if you can use this deal to get a proper seat for a toddler less than 2 years (who could sit on lap for free usually)? We'll have a 3 year old and 20 month old so would likely want to buy a seat for both kids regardless.

    • just put them in as a 2yo - you'll get a seat then.
