  • I’m confoozed. How does $70 - 12% ($8.40) = $55.44 as the OP says?

    • $70 - 10% (GST) = $63
      $63 - 12% ($7.56) = $55.44

(that's not quite right but maths is hard…)

      • why are you taking out the GST ?
are you planning to take them o/s and claim back GST ?

        But I still pay GST, if I'm not mistaken, so: $70 - $7.56 (cashback) = $62.44??

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't feel great about wording deal to emphasize pre-GST prices on everyday retail items…

You're absolutely right, have updated now

you'd have to pay me a lot to drink jonnie red

Don't get the downvotes here. I can't handle Johnnie Red even in a super diluted mix.

      • The irony here is that AU importers haven't diluted the Johnnie Red (ie. still 40%a/v), while the others have been severely

      • bottles of jonnie gold at my cousins wedding, wasn't a fan, jonnie black as a mixer is really pushing it

was gifted jonnie blue, I like but I wouldn't pay that much for it.

jonnie green I like the most out of their range

        • +1 for johnnie green

Blue with Pepsi is the nectar from the gods.

          • @sssbp: does it have to be pepsi?

I often wonder why people bag Johnny Walker so much. Is it the tall poppy syndrome? Admittedly there are many better whiskies around, usually at a much higher price point, but there are also many which are much worse but fly under the radar. For the record I like Black Label.

      • jonnie red isn't even on the top of the horrible stuff I've tried

you know what is more worse than a bad drink. having paid for that bad drink. another comes to mind Canadian club

      • There used to be a lot better for the price but it feels like they've vanished over the last few years. Personally I think JW have actually gotten Red right, a little bit peaty, not too harsh, good on the wallet.

I prefer it over Ballantines, although Dewars white is still my go to cheapo. Far better than Grants or Black Douglass. I haven't seen Vat 69 in years. Less harsh than J&B. Way better than the Cutty Sark, which is garbage for the price.

Granted, now I'm an adult I just use whatever low price scotch I have around (Monkey Shoulder, Dewars 12 or the Naked Grouse usually) if I want a scotch and coke. But that's pretty rare too, I don't tend to go to parties with a bottle of whisky and a 2L of coke in hand anymore.

        • After watching 'Green Book' .. I'm keen to give Cutty Sark an audition

  • Spend $99 online and get 2000 flybuy points with code BONUS2000. That is worth another $10.

          Does staff discount invalidate cashback?

Edit: Reason I ask is because the staff discount number doesn't go into the "Promotion/Discount Code" section, it goes into it's own "mycoles card number" section.

  • does the 12 percent work on carlton cold?

    • Works on everything.

  • I tried this, have lodged a ticket as I got 3% only and not 12%…that made the deal worthwhile, otherwise I can get the same or better prices at Dan's or use the shopback deal instead after spending $160.I'm tempted to cancel the order and just use the higher 20% deal if the experience is better and no mistakes are made… Anyone actually get 12%?

    • Yeah mine tracked for 12% on Thursday arvo
