Not the cheapest its been. It often pops up on Lightning deals for $16 i recall

    • +3

      Correct, it's been cheaper before

  • Anyone have exp with these?

    • +1

      Yep, pretty good.

    • Mine broke inside my backpack ( even with really good care) and would not open at all in a stormy day. I got very wet and annoyed when I needed it. Bought a manual umbrella from Coles after that and very happy lol. At least Amazon prime is great for returns.

  • Cool product, will wait for a cheaper price and some reviews.

  • Wait for a windproof umbrella, not sure how this goes in the wind

    • +1

This is windproof. Bought one for my daughter a few months ago. Works perfectly.

    • +2

I have bought this from previous deal, not sure exactly what windproof means but this one flipped twice in heavy winds, but didn't break or anything once i flipped to its normal position. would like to add that particular day was very windy and almost everyone with the umbrella was running in the rain with umbrella folded(closed)in their hands, basically i didn't saw any other successful umbrella on that day. hope this helps.

    • +2

Mine inverted in a moderate wind gust, which permanently broke the mechanism. I got a refund through amazon. Mine might have been a dud though, as there are plenty of people commenting with the opposite experience to me.

  • Waiting for Xiaomi deal.

    Found $24.59 here

    • +1

      No cool bag though.

    • Need Xiaomi to make one of these in the beach umbrella variety suitable for dealing with the Freo Doctor.

    • +1

What's the Xiaomi one like? Is it worth buying?

  • -2

    Windproof

    I doubt it… It looks flimsy…

    • +6

Doubt no more. It withstands strong winds and certainly not flimsy.

Thank you OP. Coincidentally, I was thinking of going to bunnings or aldi to pick up a couple of umbrellas. Your post came in very handy. They have some good reviews on Amazon too.
Bought 2 and clicked via cashrewards too :)

    • +1

No worries ashdays, I was in the same boat, glad to help.

  • +1

Closing these things is such a struggle but its overall pretty good

    • +2

It has a button you press to shut it?

      • +3

The button folds the canopy, but the central shaft needs to be locked down manually. You simply need to push the top towards the bottom after pressing the open/close button. It's most certainly not a struggle at all. Opening is pretty simple though, just press the button.

        • maybe Dnst has short t-rex arms

  • +2

A good quality product. I've one that I got off the last deal, and could recommend.

    • I wonder why this post is getting negged. My fomo of not knowing is killing me :)

      • +1

The gutless cowards most have woken up on the wrong side of the bed!

      • I would order one if I didn't have too many umbrellas sitting around. Very happy with my purchase as I stated.

  • +2

    Bought, let it rain!

  • Sounds like you'll lose the umbrella before it wears.

    Just heads up guys-

I bought this about a year ago and it rusted in 3 months. I'm guessing it rusted because of water resting on the steel frame… which kind of defeats the purpose of its function.

    • +4

they forgot to make it waterproof aye

      • +1

"shit I knew we forgot something!"

    • agree, it is not stainless steel..

    • +3

So leaving it open let it dry still rust?

Most umbrellas would not last long if you do not leave it open wide after use

  • What is the regular price on these? The coloured ones are all $24 :(

  • Xiaomi one or this ?

    • +6

I went for the Xiaomi after reading a couple of reviews saying this one rusts after a few months (see here and here. The reviews are very suspicious (language used and pictures attached to almost every 5-star review) - almost like they've been paid…

      • +1

Thanks @donnot… pretty much everyone is ssying thst it rusts… ill get the Xiaomi. I hope it'll handle Melbourne's wind 🙄

        • Picked up a Xiaomi at their store in Singapore over 12 months ago. Gave it to the wife. No rust yet and it's survived Melbourne weather.

          • +1

@psy: You are talking about the umbrella right?

      • Thanks donnot you saved me monies.

  • How it is Windproof? hummm I am glad that it claims to be waterproof though

    • The waterproof claim is that it doesn't remain wet, which is good for not dripping water inside.

Thought this was 2 dildos deal buy one get one free at first glance….

  • does it use battery or solar power? for the auto button

    • Probably uses a simple spring.

    • Man power

  • This is showing as $23.99 for me and I am choosing black colour.

How did you guys get $18?

  • shit I missed out :(

    • Don’t worry, read donnot’s comment above.

      • ah didnt see that! thank you! Now to find the xiaomi one!!

  • received it yesterday and using it today, its better than expected, but i'm not sure how long the frame would last with this sort amount of force from the auto ON/OFF button

  • I've had my umbrella for a couple of days now. And perfect timing too, have been testing it in these heavy sydney rains for last couple of days. It dries very quickly, so there is some truth in the waterproof claim. The size of the umbrella when opened is decent enough for one person. It survived strong winds in the last couple of days so the spokes are reasonably strong.

I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks OP
