hate those anti glare screens any glossy screens from lenovo. Not very decent of a laptop since its i5 and costing $935.
If i can recall the lowest was $790 for i5

The antiglare screens are amazing when you are in a very well lit environment such as next to a window, I personally love them.

Yes, it's only an i5, but that's way more than most need anyway. And it's more expensive than the other i5 laptops because it's a 10th gen chip, compared to 9th gen at best from the other deals.

I believe the correct technical term is 'nipple'.

Best to read the link before replying.

    • Who actually uses it?

      • People who wish to be more productive, ie office types. It is faster when you are using the keyboard.

      • I've tried using it but I don't find it faster at all. I guess I need to spend more time with it but I find the track pad much more efficient.

Good deal. The upgrades are cheaper too, I upgraded to 512GB and 16GB RAM and it came to $1068, less than the advertised upgrade costs presented when customising.

Just had a look and you can go to i7 for $200 but it only comes out as $100 ($1172 with the above upgrades). Terrific price.

    • All the spec upgrades are half price, not sure if it's a big, but it's awesome!

Paying over $100 for a E series thinkpad doesn't seem like a good deal. Especially this one which has limited upgradability and only one memory slot
The i7 is not much faster than the i5, and it's still 4c8t which is going to be outdated by next year.

You always pay a premium for latest gen stuff. Pointless trying to keep up unless you got money to burn. My Dell Latitude i5 3rd Gen laptop with 16gb ram, win10pro, Tpm, and fingerprint reader I got for $299 secondhand does what I need, and will probably continue to do so for many more years.

  • Do you guys think this is worth the difference as compared to the E495 for $707? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/514623

    • +1

      This has:
      Slightly thinner design
      Slightly better battery life
      A fingerprint reader
      Backlit keyboard

      The E495 has
      A much faster GPU
Two memory slots so better upgradability and performance

It's really questionable that this is even a better laptop than the E495. I would not pay $200 more for this this, but I guess it depends on your needs

        Pros for E14
        1) Latest Intel Processor : 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10210U
(Professor is NOT the older 8th or 9th Generation Intel)

        2) Latest Model including newer generation Mother Board (Example System Interface for Wifi Card is M.2 CNVio2 )

        3) Intel WiFi & BT card and NOT Realtek card found in E495 No dropping out, slow WiFi speed)

        4) Ultra Fast WiFi 11ax and BT 5.0 with New Intel Wifi 6 AX201 11ax as opposed to RTL8822BE ac, 2x2 + BT4.2

Normally there is a Minimum $100 price difference between Intel and AMD processor Systems.

Also Think Hard why is that only the AMD E495 and E595 are on promotion every month and not the Intel E490, E14, E590 or E15 ? Poor sales

However E495 is good value for money IF you don't mind an AMD system & IF you have the basic DIY skills to replace the Realtek wifi card then with Intel wifi card YOURSELF

        • I'm getting the E595 in the mail soon, will it have problems with the Wifi you think?

        • The 10th gen i5 isn't meaningfully better than than the 8th gen Intel or Ryzen 2000. Especially when they've gone and taken away one memory channel.

The wifi chip on the E495 is pretty crap yeah, but it can be replaced and a nice one costs like $20. It's not hard to do and saying you need basic DIY skills to do is fear mongering.

Also Think Hard why is that only the AMD E495 and E595 are on promotion every month and not the Intel E490, E14, E590 or E15 ? Poor sales

Lol this is silly. The E490 goes on sale 2, the reason why you notice the E495 more is because it skyrockets to the front page because it's generally a better bargain than the 490. The E14 is new and will be cheaper in a few months

      • +1

I believe the e14, along with the e490s has an all-aluminum design and thinner bezels. This, along with the other advantages you have mentioned, makes the e14 a compelling buy.

      • Thanks - cause I was thinking of getting a 16gb ram and 3 yrs on site which sums up to approxn 1180 if not mistaken. Got the E595 from last Nov 19 and found it a bit bigger and didn't really need the num pad.

  • Might be more attractive if we weren't talking Intel Graphics. I know it's not a gaming PC but forget doing anything that requires 3D graphics.

  • How does a deal come to the front page ? I ask before once a deal reaches the front page a lot more people view it and consequently gets more votes

We have been waiting 2 weeks on a Lenovo, have been told by them that because of the extension of Chinese New Year it could take another 6 weeks.

  • Thanks, picked up one of these specced up to i7/16GB/512GB/RX640 for $1236 - great price for this spec.
