Toyota Yaris YRS with Door Panel Damage

Hi guys, found a nice Toyota Yaris YRS for a relatively cheap price. The car has low kms and 6 months rego on it. However the only issue is, the passenger door is completely dented. Now considering the price is so low, is it worth it for me to find my own parts and get the door replaced? How much will it cost. From the looks of things, the dent is too large to be removed, so the only option is a new door. I'm assuming since it's a popular car, a used door won't be difficult to source. Just mainly worried about the labour costs of replacing the door panel.
Thanks👍
RE: Got a quote for $2500, here's a picture.
Safe to say, won't be buying it anymore.

Does the door still operate normally? Your options are a) take it to a panel beater or b) buy a car off a wrecker and swap it.

Panel beater will likely be more expensive, as youll have to remove it and colour match etc etc. Buying off a wrecker you might get a different colour or shade and unknown history.

Honestly if its cheap enough and doesnt affect the structure / operation of the door I would leave it. Do you have a photo?

    • Good call on the photo, very helpful in assessing costs.

    • buy a door off a wrecker*

  • Where about's in Australia are you @D4rk ?

Ive used Paul from Bumps away if you live anywhere around Newcastle and Port Stephens. He does great work and comes to you.

Do we get a picture of said dented door, or do we just advise you based on a rough idea?

    Have you done a ppsr?

Omg please don't tell me your mum is going from a 2004 Territory to a Yaris?!

      hahahahahahahhaha

Good pickup its 'that' guy…… Gee so much for wanting something roomy, but at least the brother didn't get his euro trash car.

  • You'd be check it's not a write off. I've seen cars with what appears to be minor body damage get written off.

Don't know how bad the damage is but I thought I'd give a few extra suggestions to check. Otherwise it could cost a lot more than you think.

    • Does the door close properly, waterproof?
    • Window goes up & down.
    • Speaker works.
  • Poor hot water over it

  • if the door has copped a whack that hard there could possibly be more issues like twisted or tweaked A and B pillars. Will a new door line up properly? If you can see the outline of the anti-intrusion bar in the door I'd walk away.

  • If it's just dented on the surface and the windows and everything work, it doesn't seem so bad to live with. Especially if it's at a good discount, eg $2500 off.
And then you can keep half an eye on wreckers or something in case something cheap pops up.

There's also damage (and rust spots) that's on the panel at the bottom right of the door. Still, most of the damage is on the door, and you could look at wreckers to see if anyone has one the same colour.
