Worked for me - doesn't seem to be targeted. Nice one.

    Dammit!
    Booked flights last week!

Why didn't you wait for this offer?

    • +1

      Double dammit! Booked flights yesterday!

      • Can still cancel without penalty if booked within 24 hours I believe.

        • I wasn't aware of this. Probably a lot of messing around I expect. In any case approaching 30 hours now.

    • Bah! As did I!

  • Hello , just on a side note, i booked flights to LA on virgin for June. I got the tickets which allow seat selection but when i use the virgin app it says to contact delta. When i try the delta app it says seat selection not available.

Am i trying too early or should i chase up with delta?

    • Chase up. I have flights booked for July through Virgin but they're with Etihad. I have been able to select my seats through Etihad since I booked last August.

    • +2

Go to delta.com (not the app) and enter the booking reference number through manage booking. Then you can select seats for your Delta operated flights.

Can probably stack with double status credit offer as well

    • Double status credit? is that offer active at the moment?

      • +1

Yeah my bad. I saw book by May 27 … missed the 2019 (travel until April 2020)

    • Haven't seen a double status credit offer? I've got lots of flights to book for work, double credits and triple points would convince me to book my next 10-20 flights all this week.

      • They won't do both offers at the same time. If you do 20 flights per year I'm assuming status credits won't matter anyway.

        • +1

I do around 50. But the extra credits to gift Gold/Platinum to others does help.

        • I do more than 20 Virgin flights per year but at the bottom tier fee. I JUST scrape through as Gold. It's pretty frustrating to be flying so much and struggling to keep status haha.

Activate and book by 12 February 2019 to earn double Velocity Status Credits when you travel on a Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight before 28 December 2019.

        book by 12 February 2019

Got a link for a time machine as well?

      • Might be targeted as neither myself or my colleague can activate it. For reference we're both Platinum, he already has enough credits to maintain Plat and I'm about half way to maintaining Plat. Maybe targeted at people at lower tiers?

        EDIT: This is for 2019

"This Velocity Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion."

I take it this means it can't be used with the 10% promo codes that are usually floating about?

  • Any tips for a quick flight run to earn some points.

Need 30k points, but if can get 5k or so that be good

  • How many standard points x 3 would it be for Sydney - Melbourne return on thecheapest virgin flight tier? How to check?

    • Standard is around 500 points. I have two entries in my Velocity account and one has 545, whereas the other says 495.

      How to check?

Fly the route yourself? It’s only Sydney to Melbourne …

  • Wait for double status points offer.

    • Why? Activating this won’t necessarily render you ineligible for any future promotions

  • Stacks with AMEX $40 off offer?
