Seems like a pretty solid deal for a digital copy. It might be hitting Game Pass soon, regardless this is a great deal.

Credit to OverburdenedWarrior for directions on how to claim this deal.

I've managed to grab it, but as others have noticed, you can't use your Australian cards/PayPal. Instead, you'll have to purchase a gift card and redeem it on the console itself, after switching your location in the settings. It used to be a lot easier to purchase from the overseas stores, but over the last few years they've been cracking down on it.

Here's a list of stores that sell credit: https://www.xbox-now.com/en/gift-card-shops

Once you've brought it, go onto the console, into settings and find location. Change it to the US and follow the prompt to reset the console. Once you've done that, you'll be able to redeem the code and purchase the game. Once brought you can safely change back to Australia.

If you haven't brought from the store before you'll probably need to add an address, even to use a gift card. Try to find a hotel in a state without sales tax.

dodgy microsoft…make sure you stay on the US site, as soon as you change to the Aus page, the price goes up to $14.99 (island tax)

    • Yep true, and it's trying to update my address to US address which I don't have :p

      • Yeah do I just make up a US address?

        • I’m pretty sure. It’s not too difficult from memory.
          Just pick a motel somewhere.

          • @guidedlight: still no luck here, they can tell my CC and paypal are from a different region….can't even gift it to myself….now I realise why it's 95% off, to pay for the hassle of adding a game to my library that I likely won't play very much…

          • @guidedlight: I chose a pizza place in Delawere (no sales tax) and just set up a US Paypal account based at that address pointing to your AU CC.

            • @SirFlibbled: So no issues leaving the US address as the billing address for your AU credit card?

              • @sabracad: Nope.

                • @SirFlibbled: Thanks. Weird though - I thought vendors had to match this as an additional security measure.

I chickened out of the paypal option in case it caused issues with the bank and went the US giftcard & Xbox region change route instead but am now left with a balance.

                  • @sabracad: Once you have it set up, no need to region change at all as it's just a different profile on the same account and you can just download it normally. Although I don't us the US profile much anymore with the AU $ the way it is.

@guidedlight: Which Hotel does Trump own again…… Lol

  • Great game and great price.

  • Good value @ US$3

  • Put a dummy "1 Main Street". Seemed to accept that, but wouldn't accept PayPal or credit card. Would gift card work?

    • cant even buy the gift card as they block payment for the gift card in the same way

      • So "not available to Australia" then?

        • There’s a thread about it here:
          https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3zzx0yx3

          • @guidedlight:

Unsure if you can purchase from a foreign store though I have not tried that.

Please inform me how you managed to purchase it from a foreign store without an American credit card.

Do I need to use a VPN first? You need to be more transparent of your method in the description rather than linking to a 147 page forum.

Sorry, I’m at work so haven’t had the opportunity to grab this deal yet. I’ve previously been able to purchase from the US store, so I’m surprised that this has been restricted.

It sounds like it is still possible via gift cards. But yeah, lots of hoops to snag this deal. Sorry about that.

  • Is this a deal if you are unable to actually complete the purchase?
People have had a lot of trouble trying to make cross region purchases for some time. As per the linked thread

Thanks. I’ve copied your post into the top of the page.

    • … reset the console.

Does this mean restarting the device or restoring factory settings?

      • +1

Oops! Yup, that should be restarting the device. There'll be a message about the changes not taking place until restart. There'll be a handy Restart button on that page too.

  • Man, I wish they have this price for the PC

    • Yes I am here to see if there's a way to get it this price on PC. Has anyone found a way?

      • +1

        • thanks for the reply! oh really? do you know if i can use my VPN to get it at $3 USD? or do they not let you do that?

          • @drinkin-beer: Not sure, I would do the same if I can. But I think you need a US Uplay account as well? Hmmm…

            • @d3n0tz: hmm i will check it tonight. I have bought a euro region locked key for far cry 5 through cdkeys and redeemed from uplay no issues before so i cant see why it wouldn't work.

            • @d3n0tz: yes just did it on my phone can confirm vpn works. just need to use a US address during checkout and pay via paypal, it cost $4.66 AUD.

              • @drinkin-beer: OH let me know if you can download and play the game. I assume you have Aus UPLAY account?

                • @d3n0tz: It's in the process of downloading now. Only have ADSL so it's very slow but halfway downloaded and will finish tonight. From my experience if you can start the download the game will be fine to play 😆

  • for the newbs…buy some amazon usa credit…

    • +1

Do you have a link that explains how to use Amazon credit on the Xbox US store?

  • ME: [checks my USD microsoft balance] [has $2.46] :|

  • The good old days when you could buy Xbox 360 games from the US store without having to jump through hoops. 😩

I’m not sure about you people but, I just purchased it simply using PayPal.

Here are the steps I used:
    1. Go to your browser and search up Microsoft Store US or like Xbox Store US
    2. Go in and search up the game and make sure it shows up as $2.99 USD
    3. Click on the product and if it asks are you sure you want to browse in this country there will be two options either America or Australia, click America.
    4. Go to your microsoft account page and add a new payment method which is the paypal account, make sure when adding the paypal country select the United States box on the Microsoft page.
    5. Login to your PayPal which has to be made under a US account.
    6. Go back to your Tom Clancy’s Div 2 game and refresh the page
    7. Go to the buy button and simply use Paypal at checkout
    8. Voila there you go you can choose to download on your xbox right away!

I was charged around $4.95 aud. Hope this helps anyone!

    • So was your PayPal initially setup to be US based or did to change an existing one?
You were able to link an aussie bank account/card to it? From what I can gather, you can't change an existing aussie PayPal account. You either have to close and reopen it or setup a US one from scratch.

      • I opened a new one as an American PayPal and it let me put my Card Details.

        • Thanks for sharing. Might have to do the same. 👍

  • I got it through one of my best pal who lives in America. thanks OP n to my pal.
