BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss Air Anthracite Mesh - $159 (RRP $269.99) + Shipping @ Dick Smith / Kogan

80

RRP $269.99 (ridiculous I know). Saw this price on the weekend and thought it was pretty decent. Still a lot of money for a manual bouncer but gets a lot of good reviews from parents. Can also price beat at Baby Bunting.

  • I am in the market for a reasonable bouncer for our newborn who is just 2 weeks old. we were given as a gift an ingenuity swing but it looks like our bub is not safe in that. Do you have some other recommendations because if its manual than Kmart sells one cheap.

    • I recommend Gumtree and Facebook marketplace. You'll keep it for a few months and sell it for the purchase price. As for a particular model babies have a personal preference - half the time they will love a cheap option and not like the premium model (future OzBargainers.)

      • Depends on what you use it for. Hoping to get more than a few months out of it (hopefully about 6+ months). I tried for months to find a decent one on gumtree/FB but struggled. Perhaps I'm too fussy or my area doesn't like to offload them.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of features are you after in a 'decent' one? It's just a seat that reclines with a bit of bounce in it. Yes, they are useful when you have a newborn, but very unlikely to get more than a few months use from it. Once bub can sit by themselves (by 6 months) they won't want to or need to go in a bouncer anymore. Thats when it's high chair time.

Bonus tip you can use qantas or amex points to pay or bring the price down quite a bit.
I did that recently when they had a free shipping deal as well which made this way better than buying second hand.
