    Can’t help but doubt that.

    • Yeah that "15mm" cable looks like it's 5mm of braided steel before they add the pvc sleeve.

      Then again it's $4.

Nope. You're looking at a different product. Bunnings also sell a Syneco cable-lock that is 5mm x 600mm - Item Number 4211397. See dimensions printed on the product photo - albeit not specified in the product specs on the Bunnings website: https://www.bunnings.com.au/syneco-bike-cable-lock_p4211397

The one listed above by the OP is indeed 15mm x 800mm I/N 4220017.

Regardless, I'd concern with Cucumber's concern: either model is "theft deterrence", rather than "theft avoidance".

Good for beginners to practice lock-picking.

I bought both yesterday, so asked mods to remove the expired status.

There were none of the cable locks on the shelf so staffer looked up and found that their database said 10 in stock. She checked out back and found they had received a shipment of 10 - which suggests this is not an end-of-line clearance.

Also it looks like this is Bunnings ongoing regular price, so the DH purists on OzB can get their nickers in a knot, and go hell for leather on negging the listing. I've upvoted it as very clearly a bargain and bought two of each to sit in the drawer alongside my Eneloop collection. I'm sure that rainy day is coming! Many thanks, OP!

Note that Bunnings carry two models of the $4 cable lock I/N 4220017, as listed by the OP, and the crappier I/N 4211397 which is shorter and thinner: 5mm x 600mm rather than 15mm x 800mm.
