  • I think that this coupon code is a sign of things to come.
Sure, it currently says PRESTO, with an 'oh' and no following digits, but it's easily misread as a zero.

    5% off eBay

    yawn…

    • Username checks out. (The real JV was all about upper-class entitlement) :D

      • how do we know if/which item is eligible?

  • "Presto"…..the long-term oz-bargain members know.

eBay is gonna die real quick if they keep this garbage up

    • +3

Who knows? Most Australians are not on OzBargain so will probably keep using eBay oblivious to the fact that it keeps on providing poorer value deals compared to before

Watch me pull another rubbish sale out of my hat…. Hey PRESTO!

  • The price gets jacked and then your discount disappears "Presto"!

How does ebay go from 5% off all items to 3% to 5% off elegible meaning fk all items.

    • Because they don't want our business.

  • Not again….

  • ooo 5%

  • Since when does a 5% discount make frontpage here?

i remember when i could use these coupon codes on private ebay auction of resale items.

now it's just filled with retailers selling brand new goods with prices jacked up and all the codes only work on those.

    LAME.

    • i'm saying this because back in 2018, I used a 10% code on a foreign ebay auction for a vintage watch that costed a ton. The total savings I had from that was in the tune of 300usd. I've been a big ebay coupon advocate since, but now it's severely digressing. Ebay plus benefits are horrible as well, 5% off plus sellers only. Unlike Amazon prime, there simply aren't many vendors on plus.

90% of the items are not eligible…

I doubt 10% are eligible I would say closer to 1-2%nothing in my watch list is

eBay has come to the realisation that Amazon Australia is basically not even trying to compete which is evident in the lower levels of discounting currently on offer.

    • +1

I have the same observation too. Last year EBay were trying to blunt Amazon's push into the market and now realise that on Amazon, unless there are special offers from some sellers (lightning deals, specials of the day) or Amazon Commercials, many items there are over priced. And there is no competitor in the private used items, so EBay does not see the need to provide discount codes that work on those items. However I do notice that the eligible item discount codes do work on a number of used sellers with good record and sold regularly.

    • Yeah but Amazon is so much safer. No trawling thru fake listings, fake prices, and a return system that works easily!
      Same sellers on both anyway.

    Yay! Another Easter egg hunt.

5% off and then only on eligible items is a new low. I'm surprised it wasn't locked out to Ebay Plus members as well.
