  Will 5w-30 Diesel oil be ok to use in a Hyundai i40 that uses 5w-40?

    If your car manual recommends 5W-40, don't get anything else. The '40' is for cars that run hotter and need oil to retain thickness at running temp. The lower number you choose to go (i.e. 30) means the oil will run thinner meaning it can burn quickly and leave you with potential problems. Obviously this is worst case, but still, go with what the manufacturer recommends.
