I originally bought the Yamaha 207 at a similar price and loved it. They use psychoacoustics so when you press the surround button the sensation is like the noise is just pleasantly in your ear instead of being projected towards. For me it helped add to the clarity of the sound, and was an overall better sounding experience. Also I thought the bass and mobile app was awesome. Then I had lots of issues with compatibility with my TV (It happens so don't judge), then got a full refund.
I then exchanged for the Samsung N650 which is pretty much identical to this. Ahh I miss the Yamaha so much and wish I could go back to it. This Samsung is a great all rounder and harder to pick any complaints. However I don't think the upward firing sound really adds that much height or surround effect to movies, even in action scenes with encoded directional formats.
So if I had it again I would buy the Yamaha 209 over this soundbar because it has a super handy app which Samsung doesn't, has great stereo sound like the Samsung, but the Yamaha uses psychoacoustic which is totally personal preference but I find it extremely pleasant where in comparison the Samsung uses better technology than most other Brands but I don't think really creates much of a surround audio stageForgot to say, Samsung have a dedicated centre speaker channel so dialogue is slightly clearer but not a huge difference. Yamaha even have a setting of Clear Voice which helps compensate for the structural downside of their speaker setup
I bought one of these it is giving me headaches bluetooth stops tv wifi keeps buffering and as soon as I disconnected everything works fine 🤣
What about connecting via HDMI cable?
HDMI/ OPTICAL no issues but what is the point to have bluetooth then

Is this much of an upgrade to the Yamaha YAS-108B?
Personal preference I guess. This SS has dedicated centre channel so you'd expect to get more clarity for dialogues and the subwoofer for more bass
