I totally agree with you.at least he's trying to make some money with his small business. Not living on CL

    • +1

      what store was that
pretty sure you have the wrong person

  • +31

All the best mate with the sales, maybe go eBay or something. Ozbargains is full of people like the above, you don't need it and their dribble. Sorry to hear about the incident and glad your OK.

    • +12

      thank you
      i already do
      this is just another platform
      will try it out

  • +33

Holy moly you guys are brutal..

If he was going to rip anyone off would he have his abn, and business address on here..

    • +14

if thats the case there wouldnt be any apple warranty

      • -1

        Okay my bad.

  • +85

First time I felt diasppointed with the community.. ozbargain should be full of helpful and kind people.. but I saw a honest seller was questioned like a criminal. Bring our trust back guys…

    • To be fair, 20 random S6 phones suddenly appearing is a little suss. The community just feels for the guy because of the incident he was involved in. Without it, everyone would still be questioning and downvoting like the last 2 deals he posted.

    • +2

yeah just scrolling through the comments, so much negativity here :(

  • +18

Heres an upvote mate good luck with your sale, maybe edit your post and add your facebook company into the description ?

    ifone geh.

  • +16

Hey mate, all the best. Upvoted.

You can understand why people are skeptical, but it's good that you're replying back to those comments and being transparent.

Saw the 7news video, I believe it actually makes people more inclined to trust you.

I don't need a phone, if I did I'd buy one off you.

Hopefully you get a few customers from this deal and in the coming months when you potentially post another deal they will share their experience with this one (hopefully positive)

  • +19

Most commentators above seems to be worried because of the damaged box and the sticker that has been removed. Op has already mentioned that only the box has been damaged and opened. He has also provided the abn and other store details. No one in their right mind would scam people using a legit store front.

As for the sticker, Apple does not put imei and other important information as a sticker. Get your facts right before you comment and cause scepticism.

It’s a good deal in my opinion. Way better than the used 6s that are selling at the same price. 2 years warranty and definitely a newer phone.

    • No one in their right mind would scam people using a legit store front.

Why not? Someone elses info is exactly how I would do it. The only thing youre verifying is the information provided is legit information that exists in the world, but no way does it say these phones are from there, or that info is the OPs.
Contacting the store, after obtaining contact details independent of the OP and here, or walk in is the only way to be sure.

No comment re: the OP, just in general.

    • As for the sticker, Apple does not put imei and other important information as a sticker

I checked the bottom XS box in my drawer, most certainly has the imei/serial etc as a sticker.

As for the seller, seems reasonably legitimate. I wouldn't have an issue buying from this person from the details provided.

$300 is still a fair bit of money for a phone this limited. The latest version of this model is expected to come out next month (iPhone 9/SE2). That should mean the 7 and 8 (in 64GB) will drop in price a fair bit.

  • Anyone know if the iOS in these phone still get the update?

    • iPhone 6s may be on it last iOS update (v13 est 2019). But rumours says all current ios 13 device should support 14. That said Apple does have the case of slowing down older devices on newer iOS. so whether $300 for a iPhone that may be on its last leg is worth it, go ahead.

Personally i try to buy devices that are future proof for at least 2-3 years for software and hardware wise.

      • for at least 2-3 years

6s is good for next 3 years at least. It's a solid release, the last ever iphone with headphone jack. makes a good coffee table kick around phone. Personally I can't go back to Apple for main phone, but they make good 2nd phones.

    • from iphone 6s and above

Persecute first and ask questions later, you negative commenters are pathetic!

Can some one please help me to understand how this is cheaper compare to below on Ebay 64GB $259.75 Brand New ? Free Shipping

16GB is for AU $249.75 Silver / GOLD / Rose Gold / Grey

        • Shop Back up-to 3%
        • My bad.

          Does seem cheap.

        • +6

          if you read through
first it says generic box which means its been resealed
second it says seller warranty and not apple warranty

        • +2

Ships in a generic white box

Willing to bet accessories are 3rd Party. Also willing to bet that there will be difficulty in warranty claims. Big pass from me for tech purchases.

    • +4

eBay seller only offering limited warranty (supplied by the seller).

this comes with full apple warranty, meaning you can walk into any Apple store with ease at mind and get your phone fix it replaced under warranty .

  • +1

Best in the business! Thank you.

  • -2

    Hello Altona Phone Repairs,

I've read your comments and these phones are 'Customer Returned ones' with 'damaged/opened' boxes. How can you guarantee the phones are not iCloud locked to the customers that had used them before or have some sort of digital fingerprint stain (example, blacklisted Serial Number). Also how did you determine the price point for 5 year old phone?

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you.

    • +7

Hasn't this been answered a number of times? They have apple warranty, what more could you want exactly? Pay by credit card in old mates store, then you have credit card protection as well if you are that paranoid. Guy seems legit from all his answers here. If I were in the market for this phone, would much rather buy this over a second hand one from some dodgy guy on gumtree.

      • +3

        They have apple warranty

If you buy a car and use it for a robbery, the car would still be in warranty. Having Apple Warranty =/= the phone was used for or had parts removed. Besides, I had another part of the question which was answered splendidly by OP.

If I were in the market for this phone, would much rather buy this over a second hand one from some dodgy guy on gumtree.

Thats good for you. Thanks for the opinion I didn't ask for.

        • +4

You can check the IMEI with apple champ.

You asked a stupid question, I gave you a free opinion. Pretty good deal.

          • +1

@brendanm: Yeah and I wondered if OP did that or had done any checks with the phones.

Sorry I hurt your feelings, and sorry for your stupid answer. Geez, I don't even know why you decided to answer something that you're not even involved in. For all I care, your answer was a guess and you literally answered the opinion you gave, which again I didn't ask for.

So if you want to be a nuisance and try and 'win' this argument, you can have the 'win'. Just don't misinform others. I commented asking OP and I got the answer from OP and unnecessary filler from you.

    • +3

      hello

retail atm from jb hifi and office works is 429 locked to telstra

phones have not been activated which means they have not been used yet which means theres nothing on the phone such as icloud

      • +1

Thanks, I'll think about getting a phone from you next time I'm in North Melbourne, I am currently undecided on getting a refurbished Samsung S8 or an Apple iPhone 6S/6S+ as the S8's in the B Grade area vary 300-400 AUD. But this 6S does look tempting.

        Have a nice day

        • +1

only issue with samsung is the warranty make sure you get warranty with it otherwise its expensive to fix

with the samsung i can do s8 for 350 with 3 months warranty

      • I'm pretty sure iPhones haven't been locked to carriers for years now.

        • +2

          new models no
older gen some are prepaid and are locked

  • +1

Good price and looks legit to me. I once bought a refurb iPad off eBay for cheap and a couple years later it was replaced by apple no questions asked when the screen stopped working. As long as it's Aussie stock, Apple will cover your device no matter where it's been.

  • +4

Guys Please, I'm not saying who's real or fake here. But OP said that it has Apple warranty, and you guys can request to post IMEI one of those phones to check online. If it's real you can see the date expiry.

About Box damaged or not. Apple information always at bottom. I can confirm, Also if you see a side tear out, that belongs to other importers (maybe)

I used to work for a phone shop and I saw sometimes phones have extra label like that, and they tore out because they have different suppliers (maybe from china)

Also as OP mentioned you can use Paypal to protect yourself from any damage/risk during testing (use 3UTOOL to check hardware information without opening the phone)

    Cheer

  • My guess is that the 6S will likely have another year of iOS support (Sept 2021) or could well be at end of this year..

  • +3

Ignore the mean comments and all the best mate. Try https://www.topbargains.com.au/ as well similar to ozbargain.

    • Yay competitor finally

      • Yeah! Just found out less than a week ago.

        hotukdeals - The Godfather

  • +14

Frankly I wouldn't have had as much patience with the rude posters as this bloke has.

Treat the bloke with some basic respect. It's like when a waiter is rude, you might think "geez you're just a waiter".

    Really you're just ozbargainers.

    • +7

Yes coodles to the OP for having such resilience to the usual ozbargain heckling.

Hard enough running a business in Australia let alone taking up the courage to deal with the ozbargain cohort lol.

      • I guess that comes with the territory for second hand business. Your usual browsers at pawn shops are often very picky and skeptical about the items, even when it's presented right in front of them. Cashies shoppers sometimes stay in shop longer than Ikea lol.

  • +3

Don't need the phone, but have an upvote. Hope you manage to sell all the units!

  • +7

Good price. I've had you fix my iPhone before so I can vouch for you.

Some of the comments here have been disgusting. Not sure what the comments are about the IMEI sticker being removed. I've just checked my iPhone box and the sticker is on the bottom of the box. Perhaps the removed stickers are courier labels?

Regardless, I can vouch for you!

  • +6

Why are the negs still there? Op has been pretty transparent. You guys suck sometimes.

    • -1

Because people still don’t trust 20 old “new” phones being sold by a guy from a phone repair shop just because he’s in a wheelchair.

If that story never surfaced, most people would still be skeptical.

I mean it could be stolen refurb stock from Apple for all we know. Nobody magically obtains 20 new phones that are that old.

  • Feels more like Ozbargain but not too much cause then insta criminal status.

  • Are you selling these online on something like eBay?

  • -5

    6S are crap phones.

I know my old company had them everyone complained small screen and small internal storage.

Had a special deal with Vodafone the company says….

This is some damaged boxes from unwanted 6s

    • +3

Some of us love small screens

Because of how we use it.

Like a phone, rather than movie screen.

  • -1

A few people have mentioned a news story/incident about this (and feeling bad after seeing it), but the OP has not mentioned it in any of their replies, and no commenter has actually shared a link. What's going on here?

It would be a lot less suspicious if OP actually shared that story upfront.

    • -1

You didn't read properly. Look harder. Gotta be transparent and say your first neg is me.

      • -2

If it was that hard to find, then it's not exactly upfront is it? It is clearly not in the title, nor in the description.

If you were being transparent, you would've shared the info rather than being snarky.

        • +5

          Here you go: https://www.facebook.com/9News/videos/2694851357212077/

          https://7news.com.au/news/crime/melbourne-paraplegic-dragged…

I guess OP is just humble enough to not use it as a selling point. Credit to him.

        • Here's more transparency for you; I've used my 5 negs today or I'd have one more for you.

Don't blame me for not linking info that was blatantly easy to find. You spent more time to make a comment that hurts someones business than it should have taken to find that link. That's on you, don't hang your failure on me.

          • -2

@justtoreply: I read every comment on this deal, and searched for news articles about the OP's store name, looked at the top forum posts to see if it was discussed there. Nothing showed up. I wonder what you think I should've looked for if it was "blatantly easy to find"?

Luckily, I very rarely use my negs (and never negged this deal) so I have all of them left for you.

I wish the OP the best.

  • +1

Too many sour people here, let the fella sell his phone's. Good on ya for putting up with the crap here mate.

  • +1

OP please let me know if you have any iPhone SEs in similar condition.

  • +1

    Fantastic Deal by OP.
    More Power.
I'm keen to by a 6S Plus for my mum simply for the bigger screen.
Any deals on 6S Plus or 7/8+ ?
    Please let me know.
    Also deal needs more upvotes.
OP has risked everything to provide this community a very good bargain. +1

    • thank you
      i have 1 new 6s plus 16gb i can do for $350

  • +7

Bunch of Wankas and Cowards on Oz bargain. Crucify this poor guy over his product and then once they find out he's paraplegic everyone turns nice.

Rather than being so picky and worried, do yourself a favor and get yourself a brand new iPhone, with receipt, free plastic around the phone and a recyclable bag from your favorite retailer to save you all the trouble of returning this guy's iPhone because am sure you will find a small scratch or dent to whinge about.

We all have our opinions but grow up and respect people and stop judging people even before you give them a chance!

Bring on the Negative Vibes coz I don't give a shit sharing my 2 cents…. Your conscience is your good friend!

  • +5

Morning dude. Sorry for the salt factory that is ozbargain. Well done answering all the questions (same question more than once). Best of luck with your business, I hope it all goes well.

And sick one for your cousin who put that thugs head through the window. I was happy about that part of the story.

  • +1

Geez, so much hate I feel like doing a Broden on all these phones and giving the guy my profit. OP, if I was in the area you'd be my go-to for any phone repairs. You've probably lost money on this deal with all the time spent on the replies you've done.

    • +2

ive been in the business for more than 10 years i sell phones all the time
thought id give it a go
you have the good and the bad with everything

  • +1

Could you post to the UK?

    • +1

      i could post
      registered would be around 30-40

  • -1

So where did you actually source these devices OP?

I’m keen to buy one, but I to know some history of the product first.

    • hello
these are mostly change of mind or customer returns

      • -1

Hey mate, that doesn’t answer my question. Were these sold by you originally and returned?

Or did you source them elsewhere?

I sympathize with your plight, but it doesn’t change the fact that you have 20 “returned” new phones with no proper history given.

        • +2

If the seller know how to get the phones at a good price, would he broadcast to the public his source, and potential competitors? There are plenty of resellers in this forum (judging by how fast popular items get snatched up in quantities during flashs sales and when bargains get posted here). If it's a dubious acquisition, he would say what you want to hear anyway. I don't think op wants to throw away 3 years of business to make a quick illegal profit.

          • -2

@Buy2Much: It’s obviously dubious if he won’t say it and it’s outside the normal and legal means of acquiring stock.

  • This or the TCL Plex?

    • whats tcl compared to iphone

  • Be aware that iPhone 6s probably won't be able to run iOS 14

    • I have an iPhone 5 that still works fine on ios10 so i wouldnt worry too much about that

      • I'm not saying it won't 'work' - it just may not be able to run the latest OS.

  • +2

to OP, you are doing well to field all these questions, don't let it deter you from using OzB as a platform. You will get support from people if your deals are genuinely a bargain so don't let the naysayers put you off.

BTW, what is this "incident" everyone is referring to?

  • +10

Just picked one up from OP, everything checks out. Can Vouch, great guy.

  • 5-10 depending on pick up
