I still maintain that Schnitz missed a golden opportunity by not calling their kids' menu "Little Schnitz".
So it's not just me, phew.
The first time I went to schnitz not long after they opened in QLD I was super impressed with how much you got for your money, but I went again a few months ago and my whole meal (even with the serve of chips) felt heaps smaller.
That is because the chicken supplier in most Victorian stores changed from Nice n Fresh to Baiada. The quality dropped significantly including the portion size.

If you want to know what a real schniztel looks like, visit Indiana & have a pork tenderlion! They put chicken schnitzels in Australia to shame
With high volume products even marginal reductions in cost can yield large amounts of money.
Not sure Shitty's are doing it but it looks like greed.
Not really. I order beef schnitzels usually, and the sizes vary by store. Some give very small portions, others are above average in size. But the size has always remained the same at each store over the years.
According to Melbourne Central, Schnitz are giving away 500 free Schnitzels.

I used to love Schnitz but like everyone else said, their portions have been reduced and the price is too much. Better off at the local pub!

I arrived at 11:42 - I was past the end of the rope when I arrived, but still next to the actual shop. I got my free food at 12:05. Not too shabby by any means, and the queue that was forming behind me by the time they started looked intimidating!
City standard? There have been events where by the time they open the line is full.
Not too bad queue from end to counter is 15 minutes.

Turns out they still have it going even after fifteen folks after me. By 1:59 they cheered in joy at what I'm assuming is ending the relentless amount of schnitz they had to cook nonstop
Also a friend who I called over for free lunch said the vegan one that I had looked like perkedel lol she ain't wrong
I went just before close as well at approx 1:58 and managed to grab one. The chips were great but the schnitzel was pretty shit.
