    I can't see it anywhere ?
    is it targeted ?

    • +4

Read the post, it's not midday yet.

  • +5

Darn it! Just booked 7 domestic return trips for work on Tuesday. Could've shot up to Silver status with this promotion.

    • always the way :/ Weren't free cancellation by chance, were they? ;)

      • All discounted red-e deals, so no :(

    • Wow. It is like Qantas knows that my Status credits (lifetime silver now) reset at the end of Feb and that I need to book 4-5 return flights next week. I still prefer Virgin domestically though (platinum now). Going to be an interesting call….

      • Qantas may match your status. call them.

  • Will this include books made with classic rewards?

    • +1

      ^This

      • +17

Classic rewards dont earn status credits

        • +30

          2x0=0 :D

    • -1

      NO

    • +3

Yes. You'll earn double the zero status credits.

  • +2

Full Terms & Conditions and the link to register are here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/member-specials/…

  • Quick question about status credits. When they reset on the given date say 31st March, does it start again from zero on 1st April or is it a running total of the last 12 months?

    • They reset on your anniversary date. So you can collect say, 20 a month for 12 months, but on your anniversary date, you'll go from 240 to 0.

      • Anniversary date means the date that you joined?

        • Yes, but they normally push it to the end of your anniversary month.

          • @b2dz: So you mean if my membership date is May and I qualify for gold do I get it for all of this year and the end of next year?

        • It shows your anniversary date online.
When it hits the anniversary date, your status credits reset to 0. Your status remains the same at that point if you pass the (re)earn mark.
So you hit Gold before end of May, you have it until the end of May '21.

    • +1

If they gave 10x more STATUS credits I'd sure as hell pay the extra! Don't forget shared privilege across oneworld partners! And QFF have lifetime status tiers as well (not every program does this).

Extra QFF points are probably a "meh"….but status credits are a different consideration entirely I'd say.

      • Exactly right. You can do a lot with elite status such as lounge access, status matching with other airline alliance, priority boarding and check-in, extra luggage, etc.

      • -2

Just a heads up that the extra status credits you get from this promo do not count to your lifetime status credits tally

        • what? where did it say this?

What I read in T&C doesn't exclude life time status:

However, bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/ Challenge earn requirements.

    • +9

Is Qantas the only airline you've flown?

      • -8

No actually. I've flown with many airlines but Qantas is the worst one by far. Every time I regret it

        • +1

Why do you make yourself regret it each time? It sounds like you keep going back?

        • +4

Because you're just slagging a well reviewed airline that consistently lands in the top 10 airlines worldwide, according to pretty much every review program available.

You may have had a couple of bad flights.

    • +4

Look at this dude who's never flown Tiger or Jetstar lol

  • a page of bad news followed by a para of good news at the bottom lol

  • This is now live ?

    • see post above, you need to register for it.

  • Did it say QF operated flights before? And now it just says all QF flights? This would mean that codeshare flights are also applicable as long as it’s booked via qantas, yes?

    • +2

It's still only QF-operated flight. It's never applied to codeshares in recent times.

      • But even with flights that are operated by say China Eastern but are issued a QF flight ticket?

        • Yes, even those. See the main offer page for details, under FAQs:

What flights are eligible for this offer?
Domestic and International Qantas operated flights with a ‘QF’ flight number in all cabins.

And even further down in the Terms and Conditions:

Any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket which is not operated by Qantas including Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan, Jetstar Pacific and other partner airlines are not eligible for this offer.

  • +1

If I book a flight now but then reschedule the time/date outside of the booking period but still within the travel period will I still be eligible for the double status credits?

    • +1

I've done this in the past with similar previous offers and always got the double status credits as long as the rescheduled flight still took place within the promo travel period.

      • +1

Interesting. I’ve done this and not received the double status credits. Travel was in the eligible travel period but rebooking was not in the eligible booking period.

        • +1

It depends on exactly how it's rebooked.

Having been through this with VA recently.. some rebooking basically issues a new ticket. QAN and VA might clean up a lt of the presentation but in the back end someone has cancelled a booking, done a refund, made a new booking, applied a credit and.. it doesn't qualify any more as it's actually made outside of the marketing offer.

Other times there is some leeway in the system to change details without requiring a 'rebooking' and your original ticket being issued stays the same even if some details have changed..

And of course the final reason why this sometimes works is simply that there are so many possible permutations the code doesn't catch them all and some 'get through' to the keeper.

I've had an upgrade (from discount economy into business) and actually been credited the business SC. That should never ever happen (and certainly has never happened since) but I certainly wasn't complaining to the airline at the time..

      • my experience was the same as Kenb0 - got the status credits.

      • Yeah I go the double after changing a flight twice.. it did cost me $99 each time to change though.. lucky work paid for it.

  • +1

Does it have to be booked on qantas.com? or can we use flight centre, amex travel etc as well?

    • Doesn't have to be on Qantas website, but you must register offer first and include your QFF number when you make the booking

      • Booked flights this morning before I saw the deal :( hope it works retrospectively haha

        • And.. no unfortunately, it doesn't :-(

        • +3

          Will not qualify retrospectively.

Someone on Executive Traveller claimed a good customer care agent gave them a full refund (having booked last night), allowing them to rebook after registering for the promo.

If attempting this, the sooner you make the call the better. Same day no mistake doesn't cover free cancellation, but your chances should be better during that window (or close to it).

          • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Thanks for that. Unfortunately booked through work so all too hard!

  • Would this work on a emirates operated flight with QF code?

    • +1

      QF metal only

    • No - must also be Qantas operated.

  • +1

If booking a domestic flexi ticket, and then moving the date of the flight down the track. Are the double status credits still awarded?

    • +1

yes, can confirm that I have previously done this.

  • Question - if booking using a $450 credit on the Amex travel portal would this still result in double status credit if booked in the next 5 days? Been holding out for this and looking at booking. Appreciate it!

    • +1

Think of it like you're booking at a travel agent.

As long as you've registered for the promotion and you've booked during the period and provided your QF number in the booking it will be fine.

      Website:

      How do I book?
Flights can be booked via the Qantas website, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres. Fees and charges may apply.

      • Awesome, thanks!

  • I need to get 90 more status credits before the 29th Feb. If I booked the flight, do I get the status credits after the booking confirmed, or the status credits is added after the flight?

So, I need to go in April and I am wondering if the status credits will be added after I purchased the flight ticket? Or it will only be added after the flight in April?

    • +1

      After the flight.

  • Looks like I'll need to have a chat with the boss about my Perth trip next month tomorrow :)

Not that it matters. I think 400 points is probably going to be too hard for me to get by April to get to Platinum (unless I can convince the boss to let me fly business via Singapore).

    • Or convince your business (boss) to pay for full economy and personally pay the difference between full economy and discount business..

      • I don't need platinum that much. I'm happy with Gold. My business trips often include 3 flights to get to where I need to be, so having lounge access for transit is all I need (and no they wont pay for it) … but accessing the business lounge would just be nicer ;)

  • Is Qantaslink, operated by one of the regional affiliates ("National jet systems" or similar), eligible?

    • Don't know about National, but QantasLink (Eastern) has been fine for double SCs in my experience.

  • Anyone registered but not received the confirmation email?

I’m reluctant to book anything until I receive it

    • Keep registering until you do receive an email, and take a screenshot the Thank you for registering page.

  • Jumped online to book a trip to Thailand. Minimum fare for the next 12 months is $1,261 which is about $350 higher than normal. I have never seen base fares for Thailand this high before. Guarantee that the price goes back to about $900 on Tuesday morning.

    • yeah it's not worth it for commoners like us who aren't the avg 250k OZB earner or have work paying for it lol

    • Sydney (SYD) to Bangkok (BKK) flights shows Bangkok return from $1,271.

But if you actually search dates you can find much lower prices. Like $800 return, which is pretty good considering double SCs.

  • Looks like Qantas web site is now ozbargained.

  • I have a Qantas Lounge invitation I can transfer to a QFF member. Let me know if you would like to have it as I already have access to the lounges. Please note this is not for sale, would just like to gift it to someone.

Lounge invitation info: General – can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas International Lounge or Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley Terminal) when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number.

    • This is a kind offer. I would like to have it depending upon when it expires. What is the expiry date?

      • +1

        Feb 2021

        • Then I would like it please. Can you PM me. I am unable to PM you as your settings prevent it.

  • +1

seems like the website is having a meltdown. trying to do some bookings. can't.

    • Yeap, same for me. Maybe everyone is trying to do a last minute booking.

      • Just tried to call. Hold time 2hour30min
        lol.

        • Website is dead. This did happen last time they offered a blanket DSC period. I don't even get a "hold time" and I'm a P1. Must be a looooonnnggg queue.

  • its back. Check your email. If you get close to paying you might have an email saying they are holding your booking until 11:59 pm. Takes ages for the link to load the webpage though.

  • +1

    Offer has been extended

  • …and so they should. I was up way past my bedtime last night trying to book. I got the email with the provisional booking and used that to pay just before midnight. Still have the "pay now" message against my booking.

  • +1

Stumbled on the one-day extension by luck late yesterday. On Monday I had seen the website fail and also been on hold longer than an hour (hung up before getting through). Would have been furious had I missed the extension.

  • The call centre is still being hammered. Was on hold two hours last night without getting through. Today the new pre-recorded message said not to bother if you aren't calling about flights within the next 24 hours.
