    Product Description
Seal only and vacuum and seal functions
    180° opening
    30cm sealing width
    Detachable base for easy cleaning

    • Don't know the difference between them but the one with product code 12457 is still on clearance for $20 at our Aldi from last time it was out. I think it's the $40 original price one.

I bought the $40 version. It’s pretty basic and does the job but if the contents have any kind of moisture it won’t seal so a lot of things have to be pre-frozen for a while before sealing. The $60 version states that it’ll seal moist foods so that would be a major difference.

      • thanks!

I have 3 vacuum sealers. One I bought on eBay for about $40 which is okay, an 240v/12v one for travelling and camping/hunting/fishing and this Ambiano one from ALDI which I bought on a whim as an open box (canister parts missing) discounted deal from local ALDI several months ago.

The Ambiano one from ALDI produces the best seals by far. I have to assume it has a better heater element, and the latch mechanisms are less chincy than the cheaper eBay model.

I would easily recommend this advertised sealer over the $40 jobs.

  • Does anyone know if the bags or rolls work with other vacuum sealers?

    • +2

Should be, i have used them on sunbeam with no issue. @ny bags with grooves inside will do as it don't stick together and let the air out

    • Yes, I have been doing that for a while. I got a nice vacuum sealer and then get bags from Aldi when they go on discount.

This price for the bags/rolls from ALDI is too expensive and work out at about $1.50-$1.70 per lineal metre at 28-30cm wide as opposed to buying them from sellers like Sello which work out to be less than 70c per lineal metre at 30cm wide and they are good bags.

        • Thanks. Instead of roll, the one you posted is pre-cut sized bags, is that right?

          • @muddrex: Yes, they are. They also come with a handy tear starter for opening them later.

        • a silly question, do you need some cutting device to cut rolls?

          • @c64: Just a decent kitchen knife will do (on a chopping board)

          • @c64: My vacuum sealer has a thing that helps you cut it., just slide the cutter across to cut from a roll easily

  • If I need to buy a vacuum sealer today, for sous vide a couple 1kg big rib eye. What can anyone recommend?
As it won't fit in the 2.5l IKEA zip lock bags.
Else where can I get larger zip lock bags?

Buy a 28cm wide roll and make your own bags.

      • Agree ! That's what I do all the time too !
