[PC] Steam - Submerged $1.99 AUD/City of Brass $3.99 AUD/Epoch $1.99 AUD (all 3 games made in Australia) - Steam

230

These are some great games made by Uppercut Games from Melbourne I think (https://www.uppercut-games.com).
So this is a good opportunity to support the local talent, industry, and jobs.

Submerged looks beautiful and has a great story.

City of Brass is more action-packed (it was given away as an Epic freebie previously, too).

Epoch is their first game and looks pretty fun for a rail shooter with Robots - definitely looks like a few hours of fun for $2!

Enjoy!

Full disclosure - My mate works at Uppercut Games

I really enjoyed Submerged, it was different to most other games I've played i found it to be relaxing way to spend a night (finished in about 3-4 hours)

Epoch wasn't my thing, i don't tend to enjoy shooters so i wasn't surprised.

I'll have to pick up City Of Brass and give it a go.

    • Kick him if he was involved in Epoch 2 :p

Epoch 1 was great, the intercepts were so well written you really wanted to get them all and learn the individual's stories. The game was good enough to make this doable.

Epoch 2 they had stupid cutscenes with a pompous English character repeating the same generic concepts ad infinitum, making you wish she'd just keep her pie hole closed. She was better in Epoch 1 even though you never met her in it! Then adding her ability to have an out of body discussion with a robot from her cryo chamber made me facepalm. In terms of gameplay the levels were drawn out too long and the new enemies were irritating beyond belief (instead of fun).

Get them to provide the script for the epoch 2 intercepts if you can? I finished epoch 1 on the hardest setting so when I say epoch 2 really was unplayable it means something

  • Another +1 for Submerged. An excellent example of storytelling without words

  • Initially wasn't going to pick up Submerged, but had a look at it and looks beautiful! Only $2 as well, will give it a go.

I played Epoch a few years ago as an app on iOS, pretty sure it's a mobile port. Again, for $2 I'd say it's maybe worth picking up? It's a shooter on rails with simplistic mechanics but good for an hour or so of gameplay before it gets too repetitive. I'll get it too for nostalgia, played a bunch of it back then.

  • I would like to know who submitted a report and what for? Are they Anti-Australian or what?

    • Given somebody cause for a personal vendetta recently, Lysander??

I'd think the mods know your seasoned history of quality posts to ignore it though, but still - rather uncouth of them
