    The shipping cost kills this deal. External optical drives are pretty much similar in performance between the major brands and i can go pick up a Samsung one for $35 from the local Umart.

    Won't neg this deal as some may find it cheap depending where they are.

      That Asus is fairly unique, in that it has that vertical stand. That makes it great for me with a media player, as the DVD drive can sit verically on the shelf next to the player, so it takes up much less space.

          As we send out approx 150 parcel a day, it's really hard to change what we have in place overnight. In terms of the shipping charges, I'll reflect ozbargainer's comment here and see what we can do. To my knowledge, it is min $14 for any orders under 3kg.

    Or does it only play movies on TV which are saved on the unit?
