Please always check budget climbing equipment for the 'CE' mark to ensure it is certified. Or buy a big brand like petzl or black diamond for peace of mind.
Climbing gear is not an area to go cheap on. You'll also find a lot of indoor gyms won't allow the use of this. Requiring specific models from known brands for lead climbing.
Which gyms require a specific model from a specific brand?
Hardrock climbing gyms require one model of belay device for lead climbing. Is a BD one. Can't recall the specific model. I was there belaying my kids on the fixed ropes. They will loan the belay devices to you if you need one.
As a climber, I don’t go cheap on my gear. All my gear is Petzl. Not cheap but reliable. You don’t want an item failing when your hanging 50 m on a side of a cliff/rock face.
The design of this belay device looks odd.
For $30-$40 get a proven petzl or black diamond belay device.
Or get a better one again like a Petzl Gri Gri 2 for more $ and added safety.
