    • +5

This is Glen 2.0, 1.0 was ineffective.

  • What a stinker of a deal.

I don't understand people who use this as an air freshener.
You realise you're spraying poison around your house, which when inhaled goes straight into your blood steam?

    • Isn’t this a surface spray?

      • I think so but I've lived with idiots who use it like air freshener.

    • -3

But I think qantas used to use it before you disembark from Interntational flight . I wonder if this can prevent covid19

      • They dont spray Glen 20, all international aircraft use an insecticide from Callington Haven, either their pre-spray before embarkation or top of descent prior to landing/disembarkation. Its an insecticide to stop agricultural pests/disease carrying insects, does nothing for a human carried virus.

But the active ingredient is ethanol, it says so right on the front of the can in the picture… Which component of it makes it any more toxic than spraying your bathroom/boots/whatever with deodorant or vodka? You seem to be privy to an ingredient that the rest of us aren't, so please enlighten us.

      • I mean, everything is technically toxic in the right amounts, but this is no worse for you than a beer.

      • -2

I have no doubt that it is less toxic than deodorant, but the facts are, if you can smell something you are absorbing it into your blood.
That's how your sense of smell works.
And your lungs have evolved to be the incredibly efficient at moving molecules from the air to into your blood stream, and vice versa.

So if you would be comfortable injecting small amounts of this with the same frequency that you spray it around your house then knock yourself out.

If you want to call me paranoid or something then I'll cop that. Maybe I am.
I don't run screaming from a room when someone sprays air freshener, but at the same time I can't see the point in paying money for it.

Air freshener doesn't remove fecal particles from the air, it just adds an even stronger smell to overpower it.

You didn't answer the question. You act as though you're speaking in facts when really you're just spouting your unfounded emotions based on nothing more than a coin flip, which is incredibly irresponsible.
You realise you're spraying poison around the internet, which when interpreted goes straight into the overflowing swamp of needless misinformation?

          • -1

@jenna12: I said nothing that was untrue.
What do you think I was making up exactly? And what part of that was emotional? lol
You think I'm talking shit about how your sense of smell and lungs work?

          • -1

@jenna12: Still waiting to hear what these "unfounded emotions" I was "spouting" are……

Could it be that you're just trying to justify your OCD clean freak tenancies?
That have been scientifically proven to be detrimental to your health (and especially the health of your children)
Or is your cognitive dissonance so great you can't admit when you're wrong?
Seems like an emotional reaction to me.

It's just 60% ethanol spray. Buy some methylated spirits, dilute it down, and spray away for a fraction of the price.

And yes, methylated spirits is just 95% ethanol, water, some impurities from fermentation (like all alcohol), and a bitter substance to stop people drinking it. I emailed the makers of Diggers to confirm.

    • And apparently, in Australia, no methanol! At least nowadays. (Elsewhere it can be roughly 95% ethanol and 5% methanol.)
