OPPO Reno2 Z 128GB/8GB (Black/White) $526.14 Delivered

I upgraded my Reno Z for this when JB Hi-Fi advertised the wrong price back in December.

Very happy with its overall performance. Some might prefer the Xiaomi Mi 9T apparently coming up for $399, but it's worth noting that the Oppo has a micro SD expansion slot, 2GB more RAM and a better under screen fingerprint reader.

  • A shame about the proprietary fast charge, other than that, great specs to price ratio.

Its the same one that OnePlus usage. Charges are interchangeable with VOOC and Dash charging.

      • It cause OnePlus and OPPO are owned by the same parent company, BKK Electronics.

They also own Realme and Vivo.

  • how does this compare to an s10 do people think?

    • You mean other than the $500+ difference in price?

      • looking at used so $150 price difference.. gonna stay safe and go with samsung

        • $500 for a used S10 is pretty cheap. What condition?

If anyone's seen the website for this phone, it is not dual speaker like the cheaper Reno z. Just something the misses assumed it was from the product page

for its price, I think it is better to save 100+ and go for Reno z is

$500+ for MTK Helio P90 processor???

  • How good is this MTK Helio P90?

    • +1

Generally the MTK performance is ok, but because they won't release source (despite licencing agreements) there are generally a shortage of side load apps and custom ROMs. If that matter to you then don't buy an MTK based phone.

I have an Umidigi F1 and have had no performance issues. I am having an issue with the screen touch sensor and am tossing up whether it's worth trying to get it fixed, or just buy another $300 phone.

  • I bought this a year ago. For a $350 phone I think it's very solid. Starting to lag a little now, but generally very fast, screen looks great, speakers sound good.

Biggest issue is colorOS. For the most part it is fine, but there are bugs. On one of the phones I got quiet time is not interrupted by alarms, on the other it is. I could probably do a factory reset, but didn't figure out until a few weeks in and I don't trust the data backup enough to do a factory reset.

    • i have the same issue with Quiet Time too. They need a "Silent mode" that actually mutes the whole phone, not just the ringer.

  • Had Oppo in the past and loved them. However their support for both phones was short lived and updates stopped coming after about 18 months.
Not sure how they are now.
