SodaStream Source Element $99 + $9.95 Delivery ($0 with $150 Spend) @ Minimax

30

Usually around $120, This is the slightly fancier version of the standard and is compatible with the newer bottles. Also allows for 3 levels of fizziness apparently, not that you couldn’t do this with the older types by just holding the button down longer.

The SodaStream Source Element White, designed by renowned European designer Yves Behar, is a slick and elegant addition to your kitchen, allowing you to create homemade sparkling water and flavoured carbonated beverages in seconds.

Powered by a refillable CO2 Cylinder, Source's responsive touch system allows you to create three levels of fizz, clearly visible on an LED display, while a new Snap-Lock mechanism makes the system quick, simple and easy to use.

Only SodaStream 1 Litre bottles and 500ml Fuse style bottles are designed to work with this Sparkling Water Maker.

  • It's a decent sodastream; it lights up on the front to indicate effervescence, so there must be a battery in there somewhere. Eventually that will die, but the light is largely without purpose.

Recommend the fittings and larger CO2 canister listed on other sodastream bargains, they really slug you on the refills

Powered by a refillable CO2 Cylinder

But not easily refillable by you though.

    • That depends. I have been a bit gassy recently.

"Only SodaStream 1 Litre bottles and 500ml Fuse style bottles "
what does this mean to someone not owning SodaStream and not understanding why there are a dozen models?

you have to use their proprietry bottles, the old razor handle and razer blades model, also syrups and co2 refills

      also BDS

also my take on this is that if you're going thru enough soda to need one of these machines then drink less soda?

hell right now I get thru maybe 1 or 2 x 2 litre bottles of Vanilla Coke a week and even that is getting some attention from the other half

if a guy like me who loves a scotch and coke thinks twice about a soda machine then yeah nah?

I prefer soda water to normal water so it's pretty cost effective to use a Sodastream and refill the canisters myself. Feel guilty ripping thru loads of plastic bottles of 75c Coles/Woolies soda water too.

      • If there are five or six people in your household then this may be more economical for you. Some people at work chip in for one and seem to use it mostly for making soda water.

      • We buy soda water to make cordial, but maybe takes us 2 weeks to go thru a 1.25L bottle.
So I figured it would take 2 yrs or so to break even on the cost. I really duno. We wouldnt do the Oz refill the canisters thing
