  • Had me excited for 7-11 store alert. Thought I was getting free icecream

    • +1

      sorry :p

i'm itching for a freebie, too. it's been almost a month since the last one

  • Is $8.00/L a bargain?

    • Surely ice cream at the Supermarket is a lot cheaper than this???

      • -2

Yeah, that's right. Supermarkets only offer one type of ice cream at a single price.

  • I've never had this ice cream. How is it?

    • i've had the caramel one before and i liked it, but it's not part of the promo this time around.

      think i'll try the lamington

      • +1

Second the caramel one. Sad it’s not part of this promotion.

        • +1

I didnt realise. She scanned my code for Caramel. Didnt work. Goes to scan for another one. "Sorry your code has already been used". She couldnt make the connection that she had just scanned it. Waste of time

  • you can make so many creative ice creams yourself, just grab a tub of any flavour (i like vanilla as a base) and start chucking in chocolates, cookies, lamingtons whatever in

    • +2

Seems like that would work out a lot more expensive than just buying the pre made ones when they go on special.

Not saying it couldn't be fun and the results couldn't turn out better.

      • Those 3-4L generic tubs and Oreos on special even homebrand foods should work out cheaper I thought

        Edit- yeah and it's fun!

        • +1

Yes but then the quality suffers. I'd use the streets blue ribbon 1l buttermilk vanilla tub. Costs $6 but it blows away the generic brands. It has a much denser texture which makes the ice cream go a lot further, rather than el cheapo stuff.

          • @harthagan: you're right if probably for myself alone, i'd go for some a lil more premium.
but even feeding a typical 'small' household as mine they finish fast.

for "Premium" nowadays I'm just looking for a "soft-serve" solution to blast into some Cones.
I wonder how much the machine is.

    • +1

I don't have that kind of time.

      • +2

I do it per serving. Eg when I'm eating I'll scoop ice-cream into a bowl and crush up some things and mix and fold. Quite literally a minute
