  I don't get the point why they sometimes sell items past expiry date. Can anyone shed some light. Is it even legal to sell expired goods?

    Its not expired, its best before, and Basically all these products are only allowed to have a max best before date like 2 years after manufacturing or some law like that even though the actual product will be fine for years after that in some circumstances.
