  • very good price!!!

  • Really good price for this amazing lens. I paid $1800 2 years ago.

  • great lens, nice price

I opted for the Sigma 24-70 2.8 instead

    • Seems like the sigma has quality issues of dust seal, and after sony firmware update the focus speed is questionable.

  • OG Lens

  • What is the different about Sony G 18-105mm f/4 E-Mount Lens and this lence? can any experts help me on that? As I failed to find any explanation in google.

I believe the E mount you mentioned is designed for Sony cameras with APS-C sensors. Whereas this is a FE mount designed for Full Frame sensors.

    • as below, 18-105 is only compatible with APS-C sensor cameras. if you fit 18-105 onto A7 or A9 it will only use central part of sensor equivalent to APS-C size.

      • The 18-105F4 isn't only compatible with APSC Alpha cameras. The A7iii and A9 actually have an APSC mode and will quite happily shoot and operate with this lens, however as rightly pointed out, you will only end up with a 10MP image (on the A7iii) as opposed to 24MP if you were using this lens. You could, however keep the full resolution of the APSC sensor if you were to put this lens on a crop sensor body like the ones I mentioned above but the focal range would be ~27mm-157mm and the minimum aperture would be equivalent to ~F6.

        • isn't that what I said

            • @Flyerone: I think I did mate. "if you fit 18-105 onto A7 or A9 it will only use central part of sensor equivalent to APS-C size"

  • Is it worth selling my 55F18 and 85F18 for this?

      No

your lenses are good for portrait

      24-105 is good for travel

      • Interesting you said that. I use the camera mainly for travelling (sadly an impossibility currently). The 85F18 traditionally serves as my long option with the 1635F4 as the regular. So yeah I do wonder if the 24105 is a good alternative to the 85mm.

  • Used this for a month or so comparing it to the Tamron 28-75. Ended up with the 28-75 due to the extra stop but if I didn't need it for low light situations I would've grabbed this instead! Both are great lens, you won't regret either.

It's cheaper on the digidirect website so if you buy this on ebay you should be able to get an extra 5% off in the form of an ebay voucher.

Which brings the price down to $1,367.24
