500m³/hour CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is higher than the international standard for measuring air purifier effectiveness. Rigorous tests are performed using dust, second-hand smoke and pollen to calculate the rate of clean air delivery per unit of time. The higher the CADR, the more effective the purifier.

    Comparisons: https://www.mi-store.com.au/which-xiaomi-air-purifier-is-bes…

This is their largest purifier and can do bigger areas. Note - this one doesn't come with a HEPA filter but you can add one.

    • Does it use the same filters as the 3H?

      • Looks like it judging by their comparison page.

      • Yes, there is one size filter for all of them.

  • Can the Pro connect to a 'mainland China' account?

    • I bought mine in China and it can. Great unit, great price (under original Chinese one with current rates)

  • Can Air Purifier help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as you are cleaning your room's air from bacteria?

    • +1

Covid-19 doesn't stay airborne for long enough for it to matter.

It won't clean your surfaces, so its not going to be very helpful.

      • It's not really that clear cut. Also, transmission via contaminated surfaces hasn't been confirmed and is likely to be low.

You simply don't want to be in the area of someone that has it, they will shed the virus through coughing, sneezing and talking.

        • Also, transmission via contaminated surfaces hasn't been confirmed and is likely to be low.

Source? I.e. for the likely to be low.

My understanding was that it can remain active for up to 3 days on surfaces and much longer than that in cold temperatures. And that the whole "don't touch your face" thing is to prevent it moving from contaminated surfaces to yours hands to mucus membranes by which it can enter your body.

          • @Domingo: Not disagreeing with maintaining healthy hygiene habits: washing hands frequently, not touching things, not touching your face, wearing masks etc, etc.

If more people sneezed exclusively in tissues then discarding them, and covered their mouths when coughing and washing asap then I think we'd be in a much better spot right now.

I highly recommend this video (the source of my information at the time), host is a tool but the speaker is extremely experienced and knowledgeable on the topic:

      It's a virus.

      • only if he understands the difference between bacteria and virus!

  • I got the Air Purifier 3H model, but it's too small for the lounge room so was thinking of upgrading.

is this the same as the Kogan one ? It was advertise for $279 last week but since gone back up to $299.
